PostSubject: HoW (House of Windsor) Revelation   Mon Sep 28, 2015 11:46 am

A few years ago, I traded for a 10 oz. canister of the HoW version of Revelation.  I decided I'd best pop it before it (likely) dried out more than it is.  It's somewhat dry, but I wouldn't be surprised if some people like their tobacco like this; it certainly doesn't seem even close to being beyond rehydrating.  In any case, there's no way I can get through 10 oz., and it's dry enough that I wouldn't want to try to rehydrate and then jar it, so....

first 10 members (in the US) who PM me (with an address) for a sample will receive one sometime in the next week or so.

Pardon my ignorance DrT, but what exactly is HoW Revelation? I don't guess HoW has anything to do with Rattray's Hal O the Wynd?

Question

Cheers,

RR

House of Windsor. Smile

Revelation was rumored to be Einstein's blend of choice. It's an American English (Burley, VA, Perique with a touch of Latakia).

For those interested, Revelation seems to have had 3 incarnations: early 1920s-early 1930s from a producer called Continental, which was taken over by Philip Morris, which produced it until around 1965, then House of Windsor produced a version from then until late 2006/early 2007. C&Ds Epiphany is supposed to match the Philip Morris version, Sutliff's R Blend (tinned)/Revelation Match (bulk) is supposed to match HoW. 4 Noggins also produces an excellent 'tribute' blend, Painter Hills

Got mine today also and tried it before re-hydrating it. You were sure right in saying it was a bit dry but, I liked it anyway except for the nimbling at the edges of my tongue it gave me the first part of the bowl. It'll probably calm down a lot after it's re-hydrated a bit. Other then that it was a very smooth smoke. Thank you sir, I'm sure I'll continue to enjoy it. Wink

On my second bowl now......

I think it's at a perfect hydration, it behaves well, I get the fruit and the nutty flavor in there. Definitely a Burley blend.

Very nice stuff........

I figured someone would it nearly crispy Wink I personally think the best of the matches to it (or at least my favorite) is 4 noggins' Painter Hills, for any who might be interested
