Some great pipe moments lately.

Had the last week off to look after the kids. I smoke a Pete standard when out and about, as if I lose it, I won't cry too much. I had two guys on two separate days come up to me and say, "A thinking man smokes Peterson's". Which I just loved and had a good chat with both, one had switched to rollies and the other had given up. (Whilst giving his wife evil looks)

The other was the wife of my favourite butcher. I'd just been smoking Westminster before going into the shop. When I walked in she said, "you smell gorgeous, just like a campfire." I almost got on my knees to propose before I remembered she was married.

Just really stoked as I've only ever seen one other pipe smoker out there.

Cheers

Tim

I was heading to the truck to make a pastoral call last week. I was smoking Chatham Manor (pretty sure), and there was a road crew guy putting signs out for some work they were doing on the street. He said it smelled just like what his grandpa used to smoke. It was a nice positive interaction anyway.

Had another at lunch yesterday. Was enjoying my usual pipe and after lunch whiskey when an older gent wanders past with a Dunhill straight grain in his mouth. We end up chatting and I gave him a bowlful of Westminster, he loved it and asked where I got it from as all he'd been able to get lately was Borkum Riff and he was missing his Dunhill tobaccos. (Since our last pipe B&M closed last year it's nigh on impossible to get good baccy here in Australia.) I pointed him to SP and 4noggins and he left a happy man with the rest of my tin of Westminster to tide him over till his first delivery arrives.

Cheers

Tim
