Well, the new pipe box is roughed together, just in time before I leave for a few weeks. Guess I'll finish it when I get back............

For your enjoyment, here is one of my pipe boxes, this one also has cigars inside.......

Here's a crack up for you....

I got him the box delivered, had a couple of dividers in it, one area for the pipe, a couple of smaller ones for cleaners, tools and pouches. I'm going to meet with him and his wife next week. She has apparently commondeered his box for knitting, and she wants some holes in the lid to be able to pull yarn through....

Poor guy, I feel his pain.....

Here is the finished product. No longer a pipe and tobacco box, now a yarn box. At least his boss is happy, right?

Holes in the lid to pull yarn through....

The divider is removable. the inside is left unfinished. Aromatic cedar box and lid, with a black walnut rim.. I think I'll make him a bunny fur pouch for his pipe, just 'cause.........

Hey-Suess Maria, that right there is a fantastic creation and no mistake! I can almost smell the aromatic cedar this was made from. You certainly choose very attractive wood grain to work with. Quality of craftsmanship is much in evidence. Pity it had to go to a yarn thingy.

How you got those Octogon corners so perfect is a mystery to me though! I dabbled in woodworking much earlier in my years and had problems with anything other than a 90 degree angle!

Bunny fur pouch for his pipe you say? Gotta see that!

drunken

Rock on Ozzy..........

Cheers,

RR

Rande, the wood grain was all in the growing, I cut all the boards out of the same log. The angles were cut at 22.5 degree angles to make the full 'circle', and I just set the table saw to that while milling the boards out of the log. This is a picture after milling the cedar log...
