I'm listening to the audio version of Thomas DeFrank's book on Gerald Ford, Write It When I'm Gone. Very early in the book, DeFrank notes that Ford is smoking Edgeworth (I assume it's the Ready Rubbed). As we've always heard that he smoked Field & Stream, I thought this was worth a mention.

I suspect that he was like many of us and smoked a lot. Probably tried about everything. We all, at least most of us, seem to be looking for the Holy Grail of pipe tobacco all the time.

Perhaps he was influenced by his treasury secretary, William Simon, who I believe was an Edgeworth smoker. Or maybe just borrowed some. Or maybe he swiped it when Bill wasn't looking. You never know.
