Oh the humanity! I got home last night to find my son reeling from a bundle of explosives that went boom.

Five packages awaited me on the kitchen bench, the first contained a tin of Peterson's Old Dublin and a pouch of Dunhill Nightcap, the second a copy of Rick Newcombe's Still Searching for Pipe Dreams which has been an interesting read so far, the third a Mr Coffee mug warmer, the fourth a cool Sherlock Holmes mousepad and the fifth a 2016 Dilbert desk calendar.

I'm still staggering about with a ringing in my ears. A big thanks to my unknown benefactor/s.

Cheers all

Tim

I pray the title was a auto-correct.

Deliberately done PB, can't post images as I'm working off my phone but google image search for "huge manatee." One of the best/worst visual puns I've seen.

How's your back doing after the op?

Cheers

Give and take.. Some days I'm totally miserable some days I'm just miserable.  The implant does help but not to the level I had hoped.

Sucks about it not being an auto-correct, that would have won the Internet.

That's a real bugger mate, I hope you can at least ease off the more nasty painkillers a bit.

Gah, further destruction today. After a lull in the firing on Tuesday due to our national holiday, Australia day, the bombardment has started again.

Found my poor offspring stunned by more ordinance today, three more bombs arrived containing;

Richard Carleton Hacker's book, Pipe Smoking
Iain Gatley's book Tobacco both of which I'm looking forward to reading
2 lots of Long's pipe cleaners
Four different ounce baggies from Strauss Tobacconists containing
Ault Park (A vanilla rum aromatic which smells devine)
Sleepy Hollow (Another aro which has an intriguing smell I can't quite place)
Union Terminal and Bluechip both of which smell like they'll be lovely smoking Englishes.
Some McClelland Virgina woods which has the typical McClelland smell
Some Esoterica And So To Bed which smells absolutely divine
Last but not least an MM cob to add to the growing collection.

I'll be digging into these as soon as I finish the tins I've currently got open.

Here I was thinking I was safe from bombing due to the tyranny of distance. Back to work shoring up the bunker... Smile

Cheers

Tim

Unless you're in orbit, ain't nobody safe! bom (And given enough lead time, that might not be totally safe, even if you couldn't smoke there!)

Got walloped by a bomb as I got home yesterday, walked into my driveway to see a parcel van and the driver carefully placing ordinance on my doorstep. This one contained Richard Carleton Hacker's In Search of Pipe Dreams and a DVD called Nude Cigar Smoking which looks like it'll be a cack.

Got to say, the book on tobacco by Iain Gately is a really interesting read. I'm only a quarter way through it and am enthralled, I'd recommend to anyone with even a passing interest in the history of the beautiful weed we enjoy.

Cheers all

Sorry been run off my feet lately, here's the latest instalment.

Eeeek, another three bombs have devastated what was left of my bunker, the first was a lovely little straight MM diplomat and a couple of ounces of Carter Hall. My impulsiveness got the better of me and I loaded a bowl of CH in the provided diplomat and smoked it. I immediately had another when the first was finished. I didn't expect such a delicious smoke from Carter Hall as my last try of a burley blend (Briar Fox) bit me like nothing else.

The second parcel was a beautifully made wood tamper by Kaitlyn and some more pipe cleaners. I'm not sure which two woods were used but the grain is just gorgeous. I used it when at work today and got comments from a couple of people on how lovely it was.

Third up was three tins, GLP Charring Cross, C&D Bayou Night and Sutliff Private Stock Maple Leaf. The first two have been on my hit list for a while now and the third sounds delicious as I loooove maple syrup, so I can't wait to pop the seals on these babies.

Thanks heaps everyone, I'm stoked. Now off to the shops to buy some baccy jars.

And an extra big thanks to whomever ordered baccy online from Australia, the taxes must've been eye watering and sphincter tightening.

Will post pics once I get to a computer.

Thanks one and all

Tim

No one, nowhere, is safe from the reach of the Bombers. Let this example be a lesson to the rest of you out there!

I'm glad you liked it and it works well! I loved the way the woods contrasted but they were no-name woods, so I'm sorry I can't give you any intel on them. Congrats on the nice haul!
