Restoring an early Dunhill Shell Empty
PostSubject: Restoring an early Dunhill Shell   Restoring an early Dunhill Shell EmptyWed Mar 02, 2016 3:42 pm

Though some of you might like to see this one. A pipe club friend asked me to have a go at reviving an old Dunhill. If my research holds, it's a 1918-21 Dunhill Shell Briar - pushing the century mark! Certainly the oldest pipe I've worked on to date.

It was a long and involved job, but it came together very nicely, I think.

Man, that was an awful lot of work but the end results were worth it. Another fantastic job!

Cool

Cheers,

RR

It was a bit of a haul to get to the finish line. I'm glad the owner is happy, and I'm REALLY glad it's off my desk! Very Happy

Winner for sure. It's a blast working on old pipes, it makes you feel like a caretaker of history, nice job!

Bravo! Looks great! cheers

When you are holding the finised pipe, you really get a feel for its size. It's a tiny thang!
