Well, I'm not a doctor, but I'd say your wheezing and such is due to over-exertion from using periods in your sentences. What the hell brought that on? I'd say take an aspirin, lie down, and refrain from inhaling. I guarantee that that will cure any ailments permanently in about five minutes.

Doing it just for you. No but really, just seeing if any one else felt this way at any time. I will do that, but I will keep breathing just not in hailing smoke.

Arky...inhaling any kind of smoke because you enjoy the feeling is like lightly sawing on your wrist with a Bowie knife because it tickles. It will, very likely, over time, kill you. Your wheezing is a warning sign that your body doesn't like it. There are many things in life that are enjoyable but are deadly if done on a continued basis.

Inhaling is bad for you.

To answer the original question, yes sometimes I take a short break from pipe smoking. My breaks can be as short as a day up to more than a week. Often I'll take a break because of a cold or something but I've taken a break because I was just getting burned out on smoking as well. I do find when I start smoking again the first few pipes taste better than I remember. It's like the break refreshes my taste buds.

I take plenty of breaks from smoking, sometimes 1-2 weeks. It's rather simple. If I don't feel like smoking, I don't.

Now if I feel sick or tired, I don't smoke, period.

Also, aside from what's in the air around me, I never inhale.

Inhaling, after some time, is followed by exhaling. Over and over again, like a bad habit. In and out, in and out, so repetitive. One of those few things that people do without even thinking about others and their needs. It's almost OCD. Perhaps if you can stop it we will see if your insanity can be cured.............

We're in the season for respiratory ailments. If you get scratchy or wheezy take a break from smoking. You don't want pneumonia. I'm smoking less but enjoying it more. And I never inhale. A wee drop of Powers Gold is an excellent restorative. Good luck and good health to everyone.

My wife is a herbalist and I talked with her she made me a herbal mouth wash or rinse. With cleansing herbs and I found why I had my problem. Being g that I'm around dust dirt and sawdust alot, in useing it I gargled about 7 times, and it brought up so much crap I mean wow. It emptied my chest of everything I'm a new man!!!
