| Ok... I am on the mend... have had a lot of mandatory R & R per Mrs Oak... I have been watching a lot of movies as I have been house bound. I totally dig sci-fi. Anyone have any good titles?
I have done the marathon for the Alien franchise Predator franchise and the Pitch Black / Riddick franchise. The lost in space movie from 98 and every movie made by M. Night shamalamadingdong ( couldnt remember his name) also tonight as a family we did movie night and watched Batman vs Superman and Rise of the planet of the Damn Dirty Apes!!!!!
Im a big Ian Fleming fan ( have all the books) never really cared for the Bond movies though.
Any suggestions would be majorly appreciated! |

| If you have access to Netflix, or know if they have a free trial going on, I would recommend "Stranger Things". It's a great sci-fi 10-part series with an 80's feel. Other series I've enjoyed are "American Horror Story", and I'm always up for an episode of The Twilight Zone or The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. I'm heard good things about the movie "The Martian."

| I killed Stranger Things in a day.... cant wait for season two. Watched all the American Horror stories in December ( freak show was the best IMO) Is Alfred Hitchcock on netflix? Ive seen the martian, great idea that ones always fun to watch again. I LOVE The Shining.... but my wife wont let me watch it when shes home because I could watch it non stop. I was thinking Stand By Me, Green Mile and Shawshank later this week too. |

| I'm rather old-fashioned, for lack of a better descriptive, in my movie tastes. I'm more into, say, the films of Ernst Lubitsch or John Ford, etc. Horror? Forget it. The only sci-fi I can remember liking was 1981's Outland, with Sean Connery, and of comics-to-movies, the more recent Sin City. |

9. Newest Mad Max movie...actually really good.
10. Galaxy Quest...cause ya really just gotta see it.
11. A Boy and His Dog...classic.

| Was never into watching Sci-Fic movies. I'm more of a Quentin Tarantino kind of guy. Watch Reservoir Dogs , I have that Michael Madsen personality.

| There are variations. Multiple Dune's. Babylon 5 has movies, and extended stuff like Crusade, Legends of the Rangers, etc There is a really neat, hard to find pilot for a series that never happened called White Dwarf. Space Above and Beyond. _________________ "Never turn your back on a Breen". |

| Oh...and if you like Serenity the film, the TV series is just as good in slightly differing ways. Numerous episodes.

| Alex, if by any chance your into to the ole West, watch Hell on Wheels. Five seasons and was an AMC original. So either download the AMC app or watch online. It's also available on Netflix.

I do have fire fly and serenity. Great series. Shame it never made past season 1. Joss was on the ball for that one. Movie felt like it rushed the storyline closure. |

| If you have Amazon Prime try Man in the high Castle. As a history guy I find it as thought provoking as the original book it's based on. |

Could be. I have a lot on DVD. Some on VHS. White Dwarf I bought a promo copy on VHS. But it can be found online to watch with some digging. _________________ "Never turn your back on a Breen". |

No need to apologise Alex old bean. Your priorities lie elsewhere right now and although it's great to see you posting, I think I can speak for the Brothers if I said we'd much rather you invested your time into getting yourself fully up to speed, ship shape and Bristol fashion. That way you'll be back to being your old self in no time and posting at full throttle. Here's to you matey! |
