They have been growing in numbers every night. Tonight, the forest is alive with the blinking lights of the fireflies. Alas, hard for the camera to capture, so fleeting is their strobing green bioluminescence, telegraphing an ancient code I have yet to decipher. Pleasing enough, however, with a smoldering bowl of Pebble Castle from my old black walnut Cavalier... Water is tasting mighty fine tonight too.... Half moon courting Jupiter above me.

Peace on the mountain..

*sigh*king

Fireflies you say? Used to see them in my grandparents backyard as a young kid. Tried catching them in a mason jar. Takes me back many years.

Cheers,

RR

We taught our 5 year old niece to catch fireflies last Monday evening. Our back yard and woods have quite a few of them. Made a great activity after our memorial day barbeque. I remember doing it as a kid and I'm always happy to see them this time of year.
