OOPS!

Forgot to thank Carlos, who provided the BohScan.

Thanks Carlos!

A five way gift that came together.

A command performance, indeed!

cheers

There's something just awesome about old Stanwells. I think part of it is the fact that they have a wide open draft hole. I can usually get two longs cleaners into the stem and shank of most of mine.

If I'm being totally honest, I have Stans which smoke as well or better than some other brands of pipes that I own which sell for 5 and 10 times more!

I remember that pipe well. One of the coolest English-cut Stanwells I've ever seen. Beautiful Grp 6 size with great balance. Yak sure can pick 'em. Cool Very Happy

TJ, I've decided you are a "zone seeker." A combinatorial artist who puts together sensory input so the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning all!

Truth be told; it was the BohScan and Albinoni.

I tried the same pipe with Walnut and Dawg; shoulda known better.

BTW: The combination was not DIAPHANOUS!

Capo di tutti capi.

Having smoked it with both the original stem and the PPR&R improved airway replacement stem, there's no doubt that the PPR&R stam literally "made" that pipe -- made it what it was capable of being.

This was one of a number of old pipe / new PPR&R stem combinations that have all worked out that way.

Credit where credit is due. Very Happy

Had the Stany been a bent, heaven forbid, I would have paired it with Grieg and Troost.

Yah?

The pipe that follows the Stanwell in rotation, righteously so, is my Dunhill group six Shell straight bill.

I think some Levin Intl. straight Syrian Lat and Vivaldi's Double Violin Concerto.

Ya think?

Is there a correlation between pipe, tobacco, and music?

That's ok. I'm Greg also. Greg is the reason I use my middle name mostly on the pipe forums. sunny

It doesn't have a shape number on it. Among other "stuff", it says "Handmade in Denmark" "Selected Briar".

I also think it has the initials of the carver; I can't make that out.

Beautiful thing!

Group six saddle bit straight.

Too much class for you or Leroy.

Got another unbelievable combination going.

Dunhill Shell group six straight billiard.

BohScan

Teleman Trumpet Concertos,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hakan Hardenberger

Maybe it's the BohScan.

Hakan makes it sing!

Greg would be pleased with how this tin has aged.

NO walnut weevils!

It almost looks like this one that I picked up from John B. Hayes in DC, except mine is an older Regd. No. shape #81.

That's a keeper, JP.

The front and back of the bowl on mine is transverse straight grain. Both sides are birdseye about as tight as a flock of hummingbirds in formation heading for Cancun to winter.

Stunning!

It is more than the equal of any of my Dunhills or Castello's.

George did a magnificent job at restoration.

I'd trust PSPR&R with any of my pipes; BUT, never my daughter.

Capo is pleased!
