Next we have this Tadpole Shape with oval shank and Saddle Cumberland stem by Pipemaker Will Purdy. No that's not a brush fire it me keeping it seriously smokey with Wessex Campaign.

READ MY RESPONSE TO YOUR PM WHEN YOU HAVE TIME

That's a looker and the oval shank is extremely different, I really like it. You have some very amazing pipes in your collection.

Quick question: your opinion on the blend your smoking now?

Thank you Lonecoyote, I very much like Wessex Campaign, it is ready to smoke out of the tin be it new or aged.

Here is a review by a friend who has similar tastes that I do and reviews many tobaccos and I respect his opinion as his reviews are spot on.

A very rich tasting medium strength dark Virginia. Earthy with some hay/grass notes to go with the natural dark stewed fruit sweetness of the Virginia. Some sugar, molasses, and the barest hint of spice in the flavor mix doesn't make this a complex flake, but it may make it a satisfying experience for the dark Virginia connoisseur. Due to the topping, it's sweeter than your average dark Va. without detracting much from the tobacco. Has a slightly more than mild nic-hit. It never bites or gets harsh, no matter how much you push it, and has a very consistent taste all the way through. Depending upon your preference, it may need a light dry time. Burns clean, cool and smooth at a reasonable rate for a broken flake. Leaves very little moisture in the bowl. Needs slightly more than an average number of relights. Has a nice after taste, and room note. An all day smoke.

Here are some shots of the Will Purdy Tadpole Ozark Wizard, it's not my Tadpole but the basic difference is my shank is not as bent, Will obviously takes advantage of the grain when making this shape as no two are identical but I'm sure you can have some fun with this shape, regards.

Banjo, thanks for your response and posting your friend's review. On my next order ( today ) I will get a couple of tins. I do enjoy the Wessex Gold Brick and now back in stock @ Smokingpipes is the Brown Virginia Flake. Need to order the Flake today before it's gone. I have a few tins but want to cellar a few more, today I will open a Brown Flake and give it a whirl, Wessex has a number of blends I enjoy. The Brown Virginia Flake needs a few years of aging, can be a bit bland when fresh. Quality tobacco's for sure!!

Oh, Gold Brick is fantastic and a favorite of mine as is the Brown Virginia Flake which if I could only have one Wessex tobacco BVF would be it, cheers.
