Was gifted a tin of GL Pease Temple Bar, which I cracked open today. It's a mix of red and light VA's, Orientals and Perique. I haven't had much luck with VaPers, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but I really enjoyed it!

It's Virginia-forward, which shouldn't shock anyone, so lots of hay/grass notes but in a fuller-bodied way than most VA's I've experienced to date. The Orientals give a nice spicy/incense hit, though not overpowering, while the Perique is condimental only, imho. Lots of thick creamy smoke, a pleasant room note (my opinion), and no bite despite some deliberate puffing.

I'll enjoy this tine and likely order some more for the cellar.

Temple bar is delicious. I opened it at the same time as a few other tins, so it has gotten lost in the shuffle. I remember really liking it. I'll have to dig the jar back out.
