Just learned of this today. Pity, that.

76 is way too young but it's still pretty amazing, including and especially considering his affliction.

RIP Dr. Hawking.

Like a Star @ heaven

Cheers,

RR

Growing up in a small farm town that was thoroughly conservative, viewed education as a necessary evil, and had no interest or monies for the sciences or arts, A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes was a significant experience and learning tool for myself. I can't really tell you why I read it, but I did. Ashamedly, I'm not the biggest reader. That book taught me a great deal and changed my perspective; for no other reason than I'd never heard of a lot of the things he explained in the book.

Amazing life and person. The world is lesser with him not in it.

Another truly great man is gone. May he rest in peace.

To loose such a mind in the times we are in makes no sense! RIP Dr, Hawkings.

Sad news. Despite his disability, one that would leave most mortals in shambles, he still amazingly burned bright. What a fabulous mind. I loved every page of "A Brief History in Time." I think it's time to reread it!

RIP, Dr. Hawkings.

Issac Asimov, Carl Sagan and now Stephen Hawking. These men not only changed my life...they changed the world. All three...we’re glad we knew ya...we’ll surely miss ya.

Very sad loss inded. Hit me hard this one. A great mind with a cheeky side to him.

Rande, he did well to reach the age he did. It was thought he wouldn't get much past his 20s.

Like the other greats, he'll be spoken of in a thousand years' time.

RIP Dr. Hawking.

He survived way past expectations, but he did have excellent healthcare and could afford several around the clock nurses.  Truly a fine mind.
