Having received a 221 shape recently, and having also the B10 (Calabash), the 03 and the x220, I do admit I have developed a very soft spot for the 221. In an image:

I find this shape extremely well proportioned. Being a Group 4, the size is ideal for me. Its lines make it just so, in a word, elegant. Very Happy

What is your favorite shape?

For me, my far and away favourite shape is the 999-

The above is a stock pic and does not reflect what I have , but I have several in this shape.

Another fave is the XL 26-

Again, a stock pic.

Also, my "Fat Boy" XL 90-

Not my own pic but close enough. And mine is a p-lip.

And not to be missed, a Sherlock Holmes Hopkins-

And another Sherlock Holmes Mycroft-

Think I must have at least 12-14 Petes. And they all smoke great!

Cheers,

RR

I have two in the 999 shape and one in the 80s. I love my Rhodesian/bulldog shapes. After seeing all of what Rande has, I need to up my collection number!

Only have one Pete. Mine is the 2014 St Patrick's Day pipe with fishtail bit in the 01 shape.

Sorry, since PhotoSuckIt joined the Corporatocracy, I don't have a picture of my Kinsale XL23.

The 999 most definitely. No, wait, the 80s diamond shank gives a nice grip in chilly weather. And the 408 is nice, too. Hmmm.

My favorite shape is the straight billiard, made by someone who knows what they're doing, like Dunhill of yore. But this Pete below is just about my favorite pipe, judging by how often I reach for it. The shape and size are perfect for smoking, and the sandblast and fishtail bit are very much to my taste. I'd buy another exactly like it if I could find one, but this is the last one I've ever seen in this configuration. It's a Sherlock Holmes Squire.

Lovely pipe porn here guys. Keep 'em coming.

I hasten to add that at least half my Pete collection are estates.

And the one I reach for more than the others is a 999 Flame Grain p-lip. Summat like this-

Although, that one I bought new from the long gone local T-Box back around '01 or so. Don't clearly remember what I paid, but it wasn't too dear.

Cheers,

RR

My favourite Pete shape and the one I smoke at least once a week.

I notice that a common similarity of our faves is that the bottom line of these pipes is a graceful, gently stretched S. I recently acquired an even more slightly stretched Tomato shape. The pipe is chunky, like a Pete, but the bowl dimensions are similar to a Pot. That S shape is very appealing to my eye, and the shallow bowl is just about perfect for accommodating an amount of tobacco suitable for a half hour smoke out on the deck😌

The "03," XL26, Mark Twain, and my very old, very small Peterson de Luxe bent (no shape number!!); stamped "Made in England" in a circle. Even with that danged P-lip they all smoke like a dream!! cheers FTRPLT

There are some really nice pictures!
I'm not a fan of the P-Lip, for having had a couple. For those you bought one, or more, an option is to contact Peterson and send them the pipe for a stem change. Wink

At last count there were 18 Peterson's in my rack, each (despite negatives you may read here and other places) a fine pipe, good smoker, and treasured friend.  My favorite tends to be the latest one added (until it's properly assimilated into the  family at least), in this case my B5...

before that it was this bent pot (shape number?), graciously gifted to me by a member here (shown here pre band polishing)...

and previous, this Sherlock Holmes Moran...

then there's the Mark Twain, the pre-republic pot, the chubby 999, a couple of early systems and any one of several billiards, but my all time favorite may well be this Sherlock Holmes Mycroft...

And our friend Falcon Puffer is quite correct...

...however in my case, the Mycroft went back to Peterson to have its one flaw corrected: a p-lip to replace that mundane fishtail  Evil or Very Mad !

My favorite Pete is the only one I have. It's a Dunmore 74. Some day I'll own a 999.

My favorite is the B35 zulu. I have an older one from the Sterling Silver series, and it's become my favorite pipe after having the airway opened up.

I have 15 Petersons and several of them are favorites, but I'll post my very favorite, which is a pre-republic X155 bulldog. This model was smoked by Nigel Bruce in two Sherlock Holmes movies, and mine it not only a great smoker, but was a special gift from a friend. The other two pipes in this photo are also pre-republic Petes.
