| Now I'm commiserating Somerset's loss in the T20 final with a double Cuba Libre on the rocks, inspired by NeroWolfe's recent post in the Rum anyone? thread.
3 oz. Pyrat Rum 1/2 oz. lime juice 12 oz. cola |

| 12 oz. soda water 8 oz. grapefruit juice 1/2 oz. grenadine
The grenadine is all of 5 proof, so sure, I'll call it an alcoholic beverage! I'm just recovering from a long weekend and the only reason I'm not going to say that I can't wait for Monday is that I'm looking forward to a nice, quiet pipe tonight. In fact, I'm deliberating right now which of my TAD attack I should open for the occasion. |

| Happy September! At this rate, the thread will become my personal drinking blog. Right now, I've just prepared an Antibes on the rocks while my brain does double duty pondering my next smoke and quietly wishing I could write, or maybe think, like some of my favorite authors.
Antibes 2 oz. gin 2 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice 3/4 oz. Benedictine |

| While watching the Ravens demolish the Steelers this afternoon, I enjoyed some Heavy Seas Greater Pumpkin. It is a pumpkin ale aged in bourbon barrels. Really the best of both worlds in my opinion. The spicy pumpkin flavor just melds right in with the oaky-vanilla flavor from the bourbon barrels.

| I've got a bottle of Dr Pepper ready to accompany me as I prepare to watch the concluding episode of Steins;Gate. Because I never drink soda in its unimproved state, I added some coconut rum. The main character is a bit of a nut, after all. |

| You've got some nifty beverages there, Kyle.
As I write this, autumn is only a few hours away. I'm celebrating tonight with a variation on an Autumnal Equinox: 2 oz. ruby port 1 oz. Cointreau 1/2 oz. amaretto
I have to say that, as far as sweet drinks go, I'm very fond of this one. I recommend using the cheapest port that still tastes decently like port to you. If you like port at all, the good stuff should be enjoyed by itself, at least to my mind. The Cointreau can be replaced by Grand Marnier or whatever triple sec you like. |
