Love that site! I grew up in a family full of old Jews telling jokes, so it's familiar territory.

I recall way back when, a gentleman appeared regularly on The Ed Sullivan Show. A humorist, storyteller, told his stories with a yiddish accent. In my estimation one of the funniest men i ever saw. MYRON COHEN

One of my Grampa's favorite Myron Cohen jokes (imagine it with the heavy yid accent):
A man is out for a walk, and another fellow stops him in the street.
"Mister, you want to buy an elephant?"
"An elephant? What would I want with an elephant?"
"Mister, such a deal you shouldn't pass up. A real elephant, only $200!"
"What are you talking about? I live in a small apartment! Even if I wanted an elephant, where would I put it? What would I feed it?"
"Mister, you have an honest face, so I'll tell you what I'll do: TWO elephants for $150."
"Ah, NOW you're talking!"

DOC you had to see this man, his timeing and delivery was impeccable. I don't mean to offend anyone, but his demeanor was stereopically jewish. He appeared to be a good sized fellow, with a joyful attitude. AND his humor was all delivered without any harsh sexual invectives or innuendos. He was a truly fun person to watch and perform. I hope his routines were preserved on tape. Maybe a lesson for todays foul comics on how to be genuinely funny.
