Based on some recommendations I got here and another board I bought the stem refurbishing kit from Walker Briar Works. It came yesterday and I used it last night on a couple of oxidized Savinelli mouthpieces. Boy is that stuff great! It absolutely works as advertised. My wife had used some alcohol on these stems that just seemed to make them look worse. I took a few minutes after dinner last night and used the cleaner and followed it with the Carnuba wax. The mouthpieces are now good as new. They may even be better than new. I smoked a bowl from one of them this morning and the wax had made the stem so slick that it was a little slippery to hold.

It's good to get a reasonably priced product that delivers.

Gonna have to try that. Last stem cleaner/restorer kit I bought involved an awful lot of rubbing and very little improvement.
