Have you ever heard of an unassisted triple play?
How could it happen?
No, its not buying three estate pipes on ebay.

An unassisted one happens the way they described it.

Runners going on a pitch with a men on base. You're playing second. Or third. You catch a liner (batter out), step on the bag (catching the runner who was on your base off it, forcing him out) and tag the runner coming in who's trying to reverse direction.

Bing,Bop,Bang. Just that quick.

What a Face

It's been a heck of a season. In addition to this oddity, we also had one of I believe 18, perfect games pitched!

DANG! I love baseball!

Baseball is a love/hate thing for me.....

The thought of sitting in front of the tube watching a game ranks right up there with squeezing one of those nasty jalapeno n nachos turds off in a unisex pooper only to find the cute girl from work waiting outside the door to go pee when your done.........

But listening to a game on the ole transistor or even better being at a game soakin up atmosphere is the real deal!

I decided at a young age that it definatly aint a visual sport.

PB sure knows how to hit the nail on the head.
Those were my thoughts also, but I didn't know how to express them so eloquently.

My thoughts echo PB's radio or live at the park is the only way to go for me. I really loved going to watch my eldest grandson play baseball, from pee on through his high school years. I wish that I could have attended EVERY game, but we know how schedules are. Radio is the second best thing to being at the park, TV just doesn't capture baseball for me ...

Listening to a ball game broadcast on AM radio is classic Americana, in my book. Reminds me of halcyon days of yore...

Growing up in Alaska we would get TV broadcasts from Outside (Alaskanese for lower 48 -- yes, Alaska is so big that anything taking place away from here is simply "Outside," with a capitol "O") Yes, anyway, we would get television broadcasts flown in on film by the airlines -- there was no signal. Most of the TV we watched back then was one to two weeks old already. So, I have many memories of listening to baseball games with my grandfather. Often, this took place in the garage while he tinkered with the lawnmower or other small project, and I would get him tools... Good stuff, great memories!

A lawnmower shop in Alaska strikes me as one of the funniest things....

Kinda like a heater salesman in Miami...
