So, there I was, cruising on a different pipe/tobacco site... I won't name any names, but this particular site is notorious for being super over the top conservative/touchy/stuffy... Ya, so there I was on Smokers Forum -oops!- and I posted a reply that said simply, "Fricking awesome!" (Referring to a pic of a super killer blasted pipe) When I posted the short reply, it went up as "******** awesome!" Can you believe that one? Wow, that really made me glad that I hang out with the Brothers, where we can say frick and frack and even... So, today in light of the fact that it is Thanksgiving time, I am most thankful for this great site with all these great pipesters.

Brothers of the Briar is fucking awesome!

Although vulgarity is not actually approved by the Admins and Mods it is permitted in certain closed areas of the board.
Please refrain from posting vulgarity in the open areas of the pipe board.

LOL now that's pretty funny...I enjoy the atmosphere here at BoB very much. I especially enjoy the carefree atmosphere of the rubber room...The main forum I chat on is a muzzle loading gun forum, very "family oriented" as far as language rules, and they have a politican forum that gets pretty heated but are threatening to shut it down due to the family atmosphere...I told them they should have a rubber room like ours but they didn't like that idea lol

Yeah I pretty much live in the RR, like the brother-in-law who won't leave after holiday goodbyes are over cheers

Can't imagine a forum without one ... like every bar I've ever been a regular in, there are always places for regulars to let their hair down a bit ...

Yes I had a posting "deleted" there, when I drew a parallel to the old saw about "iight beer being like making love in a canoe..." and I innocently used "f**g close to water". I wasn't even told which posting had been deleted or why, just this stone tablet coming down to my inbox, telling me that the "obscenity" filter had caught my posting and don't ever post anything like this again.

Not being given to gratuitous swearing, i was a little non-plussed by the whole thing, and yeahit is a lot more comfortable here. It's not like we expect a lot of kids in a smoking site for pipe smokers.

Before the explosion in profanity, before you could ask a girl to "fluff" you, which is to say in the early '60s, young men hoped for a girl who would "go all the way."
imagine that turn of phrase today, as NYC taxi driver shouts at the bicycle messanger who just cut him off. "All the way you! You mother all the wayer!" (apologies to John McKuen of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, for appropriating his punch line for the LP "Stars & Stripes Forever")

Here's an exhaustive list of other ways to say the Eff-Dash-Dash-Dash Word (NSFW unless you're a Marine)... see how many of them you can sneak past the SF Mods.

After researching and reflecting on each word and phrase, I've come to the conclusion that there are two that might be acceptable;

lay pipe ... for the monogamous piper
lay some pipe ... for the piper who should be using a softy bit

"SIGH!" Fellows, I know, it's all in fun.

I try to follow this self imposed rule for the good of all. It's always best to not talk about other forums. Unless it's spreading information of value to us all. Gossip, fights, I never mention. Helps to keep the peace.

Just one of those public service announcements. Carry on. Very Happy
