PostSubject: Back on BOB!   Mon Apr 05, 2010 12:47 pm

Gretings Gents!

I have been away for 3 weeks or so. I am standing at the crossroads of a major career change which is scaring the living crap out of me! I took a long break and went away to the coast with my family. Just to let you guys know that I am back in case any of you were wondering where I was!
I am planning to fly solo with my pipe repair business as I have had enough of the rat race and academic bull. This, as most of you know is a risky business, especially in South Africa!

I do hope you guys have not been giving JUSTPIPES to much of a hard time while I was gone!
Just for the record.............. I am enjoying a bowl of Walnut with coffee on the side watching the rain from my patio!

Regards
Piet Binsbergen

Welcome back!

I must admit, I noticed your absence and then I saw some "Zuma moves to calm nation" headlines and was hoping the two were totally unconnected. Glad you're back and well. Best of luck on your new endeavour!

Piet -- Thanks for the update, and best of luck on your new path. With hard work and a positive mental attitude, a fellow has a pretty decent shot at realizing just about anything one might imagine. Here's to following your dreams!!

Good on ya,

TB

[b]What field of academics were you in? I taught linguistics for years at University and have found frredom since I walked away from it. Became a hermit woodsman for a few years and now living in hamlet but still building curriculi.

Hey Joseph.
Thanks for stopping by.
I have an honours degree cum laude in Art history and an MA in fine art specializing in painting. I currently find myself in the Faculty of Education as the course coordinator for Art Education. I am supposed to be reading for a doctorate but don't tell anyone........ it's boring the living crap out of me. I am spending much time re cirriculating the new Arts education program. It is for the Large part choking me!
There you go...... spoken like a true academic

Thanks for asking and pleased to meet you Sir!
Regards

Dr. Joseph...... you seem to be a wise man! ....... you are supposed to convince me that this current career of academics is the way to the "holy Grail" Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil Laughing......... indeed I invested 20 years of my life to education and came out of it with sweet blow nothing, not even financially!
