Great news! Watch out, that sun is hot. Take lots of breaks and sit in the shade from time to time. I have been doing the same. Got my poles in for the pole beans this morning. Cleaned out the truck and put the 325gal tank in the back so I can go water the trees in one of our little parks today. Filling out of the well right now and relaxing. Enjoy the day. Cool

Since you gents are at it, why not order some tobacco plants. In that way you can produce some FVF and flood the world market again since it is out of stock everywhere??? lol!

My "mule" is broke, and I am having to reclaim my garden from several years of neglect, so i have a lot of root collecting to do. So I am working the spading fork and then down to pick out all the plants and roots. since I have twitch grass and stinging nettles to combat the roots are very important. the tiller would just make it worse, but I have to get it working before the summer is over, when things are sort of under control.

Got to make sure i get out and work in the morning, because by afternoon it becomes oppressive.

Enjoy.

Saturday afternoon it was hot (85-90 F) with 85% humidity. For a slightly overweight 65 year old working physically in the sun, it was oppressive. When I was used to Kentucky weather, where I lived for the first 23 years of my life, I would have found that a delightful warm Spring day. And at 23 the "work" portion would not have been all the "trying".

But that was then and this is now. Embarassed

I live in SW Ontario, just north of Lake Erie, the southern most part of Canada, not the land of ice and snow, igloos and polar bears. Very Happy Not Louisiana hot and muggy, but then your body doesn't haven't to accommodate winter weather as we know it. (Actually Cleveland Ohio, which is 90 miles due south from here, gets much worse winter weather than we do here. And they are welcome to it.)

Ken if you haven't tried a Kelloggs Breakfast tomato you should. I grew one plant last year and the tomatoes were the best I had ever eaten. This year it was the first variety I purchased. Mike

I've been pulling cucumbers and squash the last week or so. A pretty good crop. Looking forward to canning for some pickles. Watermelon is looking good, a few cantaloupe, some zuchinni is growing. Looks like the tomatoes and peppers will be good this year. The corn isn't doing as well as I had hoped, but a hail storm a couple of weeks back beat some of it down. The eggplant even looks good. I love my garden! We're going to double the size of it next year.
