PostSubject: A New Pipe Smoker From NC   Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:29 pm

Greetings everyone, I have smoked pipes a few years ago when my Grandfather gave me all his pipe, they mean a lot to me though they are basket pipes of not much money value. The value is from smoking them and remembering the aroma of visiting him and when I could smell the pipe smoke in his clothes after a hug on every visit.

I have started back smoking a pipe and hope that Brothers of Briar will assist me in my ventures. I am 40 years of age from near Charlotte, NC and have a beach house in Holden Beach, NC and I am a cigar enthusiast as well. I am knowledgeable of cigars but rather novice at pipes. I bought a 45.00 Jobey pipe? a few years ago, but I stumbled in a pipe shop in Little River, SC yesterday, not knowing it is the largest Internet pipe dearler in the world. If you are not familiar with www.smokingpipes.com please visit this site. I was going to an intersection off the beaten path and seen Low Country Pipes and Tobacco alias smokingpipes.com and found myself in a brick and mortar building that is so elegant and staff so friendly and immersed in a shop that has at least 1500 hundred to 2000 pipes on display, tons of tobacco and a great high end cigar walk in humidor. All the mid to high end factory made pipes and tons of handmade top of the line pipes, some ranging in the thousands of dollars each. I love the Dunhill line they have.

Just starting out yesterday with a purchase, I bought a IMP Meershaum Pipe, that is a Bent Billard I believe with a sliver band on the stem. I smokes well and looks elegant and has a nice molded case to carry it in which I like. Though this is relatively inexpensive (150.00), I thought it would be a good first addition. I really like the Estate pipes that they have, all pipes are graded honestly 1-5 on a scale 5 being perfect. I have found an Estate pipe from Aaron Spelling that is a Dunhill pipe and hope to purchase it tomorrow. Again, if anyone has any information for me such as advice or just pipe chat, feel free to reply. I will check forum often and thanks for allowing me to join your Brotherhood. Smoke, drink and be happy!

Don
