Thank you again for your input, Bud!! I had never been introduced to self publishing as it is defined in the link you provided. I had been introduced to the idea of self publishing several years back. But, back then it basically meant using a vanity publishing company. With them, you hire them to do your publishing. In hiring them, you have to agree to purchase so many books. Then, it is completely up to you as to how you dispose of them. The vanity publishing companies of those days were little more than high-priced printing companies! And, they did little more than feed an author's vane desire to see a book in print that had their name on it!!

The vanity publishing route was not a viable option for me then... and, still isn't today! Even if I could afford their prices, I would not be willing to sink that kind of money into something that I probably would not have the required knowledge to sell!! But, if a person went with the right self publishing company, much of the financial costs and risks are negated! As a matter of fact, there is one of the companies that David recommends that requires absolutely no money up front at all!! And, the 35% commission on book sales that he quotes is very good!!

I've not had the time to completely read all of the information that he posted. For now, I had to just skim it. But, it sounds very, very interesting to me! So, I will go back and read it thoroughly when I have more time.

Again, thank you so much for your input, brother Bud!!!

Robert

Writers write. Attracting an audience (if it happens at all) comes after.
