PostSubject: Supporting Charities...   Sat Sep 25, 2010 11:33 pm

Tonight my wife and I participated in the "The Light the Night Walk" at Victoria Park in Edmonton in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. One of our granddaughters is a Leukemia survivor and this particular event was in support of one of our dear friends who is battling a rare type of blood cancer with a fancy name.

We walked 5 kilometres (actually we cheated and it more like 4 kilos... we're old farts.)

What are some of the charities some of the BoB community members support?

Good on you, SP!!

My wife and I support Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN on a monthly basis! We do this in memory of our newborn granddaughter (Elizabeth Faith) whose young life the doctors and nurses of Le Bonheur did their very best to save. But, apparently God needed another angel more than we needed a granddaughter.

I regularly donate to the Kidney Cancer Association. I was a very lucky survivor of the disease but many people aren't.

I perform Bluegrass Gospel or Classical Guitar each month for the folks in a local nursing home.

We also sponsor a child in Kenya through the Christian Children's Fund.

I also let my boss feel like he's a decent guy by taking a pay check from him every couple weeks, and trough PAD & TAD I also keep several tobacconists in business Wink
