I like the way the SF forum has set-up a page where you can see a list with the most recent active topics. That's where I look first, when visiting with them. I would like to suggest the same to be done for this forum.

If you click the Actions! just to the right side and above the posts listing, a menu pops up that lets you check new posts since your last visit. And other options.
