I found this pipe recently on Jack's site, to my eye's just amazing. The wonderful thing about Jack's pipes, they smoke as good as they look....

What would you call that?
Eskimo ? Rhodesian?
Eskesian? scratch

Very classy to say the least, whatever it may be called.

It's a ukelele derivative. Would be a hard fit in any of my racks, but that's a beautiful pipe.

Very nice pipe but not mine, although Jack is working on a pipe for me. I hope everyone doesn't mind but I like sharing pictures of these pipes when I find them, if for nothing else to remind us that there are some amazing carvers out there....

Man Jason, I wish I was the owner of all of the pipes I posted, and I'm sure my wife is glad I'm not.

As the proud new owner of the Jack Howell Ukulele/Eskimo I would like to let you guys know that Jack's pipes are superb smokers. Although I have not smoked this one yet, I do have one of his other signature shapes, the clam, which smokes as good as any pipe I have ever smoked...a nice easy draw, the pipe stays lit for up to five minutes after setting it down, it smokes right down to ash with ease as well.

[/img]

His internal engineering, bit work and over all finish is top flight. He has a nice repertoire of shapes including another signature shape the "volkimo" He also makes some outstanding nosewarmers.

Jack is a classical clarinet player with a young family so his production is somewhat limited. If you are thinking of buying a great smoking, interesting handmade pipe made by an American carver, Jack Howell would be an excellent choice.

For more Jack Howell eye candy here is a link to his gallery: Jack Howell Pipes[img]

Thanks for sharing the photos. Keep on posting them Blue. I think there is a more than a slight chance that one of Mr. Howell's creations is going to end up in my house soon. Yours is a beauty too Richard. cheers
