PostSubject: The 2008 Brothers of Briar Forum Pipe   Tue May 06, 2008 1:41 pm

Well the time has come. I was told to run with it, and I did. With the idea of keeping it as simple as possible in mind, I hope everyone will like this as much as I do.

The 2008 BoB Forum pipe:

Mark Tinsky Squat Bull Dog. What a wonderful shape for a pipe. Fairly light in weight. Seems to naturally clench with no difficulties. Those flat surfaces challenge the maker to get it right, while showing the grain or finish of the pipe off. This is a new shape for Mark and fortuitous that BoB Forum was looking for a pipe shape at the time. Depending upon the briar, some of these are amazing to behold.

I will do a series of posts of pictures. Two are actual BoB Forum 2008 pipes and two are the same basic shape, but showing different finishes and options. Keep in mind, Mark is a carftsman. The nature of the briar, and his eye will determine just how close each pipe is to the basic shape. So there is a chance that they will all be different, or unique. If you want a customized pipe, by all means contact Mark and ask. Brothers of Briar Forum pipes will be stamped:

BoB Forum
2008

There is no limit to the number you may pruchase and there is several finish options. There really isn't a time limit. Need to save a bit more PAD moeny, you have plenty of time. You may choose that which pleases you. Here is the pricing list.

BoB Forum 2008 Squat Bull Dog Prices ( + shipping)

Pristine - $240
Natural Sunrise - $240
Cabernet - $220
Bengal - $220
Mocha - $220
Walnut - $200
Black & Tan - $200
Tanblast - $185
Blast - $175
Naked Coral - $160
Dark Coral - $150

How to Order:

Mark will be creating a link on his site. This is the main page link and Mark has added some information. If there isn't a way to order from the web site yet, follow the instructions listed in the paragraphs below.

http://www.amsmoke.com/

Let's see what develops as Mark gets time and more actual BoB Forum 2008 pipe pictures. For now. If you wish to order today, or until the link gets built. Simply decide what you want and go to Mark's site here;

http://ssl.cybersun.com/scripts/webcatalog4disapi.dll/4dcgi/enterstore?ams

Choose Briar & Stems, and then buy a stem. Or a chunk of briar. In the Instructions box, explain that you wishing to purchase a BoB Forum 2008 pipe, give Mark the details on finish and any options or questions you might have and follow the checkout procedures. Mark's site will accept credit cards and has a mail in check option for those that wish to do so.

Feel free to email/PM me with any questions that I may not have answered.

This is a Black & Tan. Very Happy

This is the pipe from Mark's A Day's Work series that caught my eye. This isn't a BoB Forum 2008 pipe. But it's the same shape and shows a wonderous sandblast. Feel free to ask Mark about such a beauty.

Sweet! I've been wanting to get a Tinsky for quite a while and now I have the excuse! And the shape is one I've been interested in for a while as well. Nice work Carlos and Mark, now just a matter of figuring out what finish to order in....

For those of you wishing to see a smooth. This is a pipe of the same basic Squat Bull Dog shape, but with a different stem. I do not know the costs for different stems, but you can contact Mark if you wish a bit more customization. This is a Pristine with a tapered Amber colored stem.

I should mention something about the size.

Mark says this is a group 5. Bowl size is appx. 13/16"

I can get more detailed measurements if you need them. Mark may be listing them on his site as he gets time. I expect some variation.

scratch I am amazed. Only Lew has commented. Is everyone so busy that they have yet to see this thread? Did I put it in the wrong place? Is everyone still in shock? Laughing

Guess I am fishing for a few comments. The council had a bunch of Wow!'s and Golly Gee's!

I have seen the bengal finish, but it's been a while. I have been looking for one in the "Day's Work" listing. I may email Mark tomorrow and see if he can provide a link to a picture of that finish.

Great job Carlos. I know where some of my tax rebate will be going. I really like that Black and Tan.
