| I can't believe the sports talk shows... just unbelievable.
"The lakers are going to take the next two games, that's a "lay-up" " -sports analysis, not caller
"It is unbelievable thar Vegas had odds for the Celtics in game two" -sports analysis, not caller
"You can be sure the Lakers will be at the free throw line next game" -sports analysis, not caller
"The referees didn't call a good game" -sports analysis, not caller
"Lakers should be embarrassed that a nobody like Leone Powe played like that" -Jim Rome
These guys make me puke.
Celtics out-coached, out-played and had the better team and bench than the Lakers.
Sure, the Lakers can hit the 3 pointers at the end of the game (with no defense)... Boston could reply with House, Posey, Scalabranie... but that's their bottom bench... I say bring in BIG BABY DAVIS and show even more muscle in game three.
I want to see the smug Phil Jackson and Jack Nicholson on the end of the bench after game three. So a close-up please cameraman/woman.
Need RESPECT
Hell, on one ESPN radio talk show they went back to Miami Heat and Dallas finals a couple of years ago, to prove that Wade scored his points because the officials favoured the Heat.... They actually cited scoring statistics for each game.
May they all feel like they just smoked Black XX in a magnum pipe. _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. It's like hearing that Pope Benedict XVI had 'em rolling in the aisles with his stand-up routine at the Vatican." -Dan Shaughnessy |

| | SP, what sports talk shows do you listen to? Radio or TV? If you have Fox Sports Radio available to you, try to give Steve Czaban a listen. One of the most non-shills out there. Unfortunately, his show's only 3 hrs long from 6-9am here in the east. He's also somewhere on XM radio and they do an afternoon replay of his show. Good stuff. His website is www.czabe.com. It's going through a reformatting at the moment, but his blog is always pretty good and he has pictures of scantily clad women...what more do you need?? |

In Canukville it's all hockey or CFL then baseball with a sprinkle of NFL. They are still talking hockey up here
But a local sports radio has Jim Rome followed by a couple of ESPN hour shows. Stephen A Smith used to be one of them. Although, he's susposed to be a basketball guy (an admitted Yankee lover)... all he had been ranting about was the roids and how hard pressed Barry Bonds is put upon instead of Roger Clemens... He's not on the airwaves here anymore. He reminded me of evangelical minister.. yelling and screaming... entertaining... no substance.
They keep switching: Scott Van Pelt is one that I get. I have Sirius Radio, so I've been listening to FULL COURT PRESS.
I'm convinced after listening today, that the NBA doesn't want this series to end quickly. The Zen Master (Jackson) has critiqued the officiating. One prediction is that the Lakers will be up by 20 to 30 points by half time.
He shall see a few hours time.
I'll check out Steve Czaban. _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. It's like hearing that Pope Benedict XVI had 'em rolling in the aisles with his stand-up routine at the Vatican." -Dan Shaughnessy |

| Surprisingly unispired first quarter. Where are the LA fans? Weighted down by their Rolexs and Oscars? _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. | At the half, not a huge lead yet. The Lakers better step it up or this series could be a bust. _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. It's like hearing that Pope Benedict XVI had 'em rolling in the aisles with his stand-up routine at the Vatican." -Dan Shaughnessy |

| Celtics have the lead in the mid-third quarter, and are playing poorly. If this is all the Lakers can show, it's disappointing. They may win tonight, but they are not overwhelming the Celtics yet. _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. | Lakers won it. Not a good game IMHO, either way. It would have been a disgrace if the Lakers didn't win it. _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. We do the same thing with NFL whether it's in season or not down here

Which is why I refer to him as "Screamin" A Smith. That guy drives me nuts.

Another good name for Phillip is "Captain Smudgie". Have you ever heard him talk about "smuding" the locker room with sage and sweetgrass? Nothing against the folks who hold a belief in this kind of thing, it just seems a good bit out of place in an NBA locker room. I wonder what kind of "sweetgrass" he's using??
He shall see a few hours time.

| That game 3 was pure Fugly. If that's the best the Lakers can do, the Celtics should certainly take the series seeing as they barely even showed up tuesday..... _________________ These are horrible times and all sorts of horrible people are prospering, but we must never let this disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to annoy and hinder them at every turn. | Why even watch Game 4... the experts are predicting Lakers... Pierce, Rondo and Perkins (all injured or recovering)... this is the Lakers series. NBA heirarchy seem to want Kobe to be the Hero.
Like PD, I think the Lakers fall way short. That last game was a SHAM !!
NBA officiating is always subjective. It's the most likely sport to be swayed by passing a few $$$ to the referee.
However, I still think 3 guys on the Celtics want the "RING" and Kobe wants the publicity.
