Steve Stone is the White Sox radio announcer. You can probably get streaming
play by play over the internet and listen to him.
There will never be again such a pair as Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall in the
70's.Harry would get lit up on beer and say the funniest things while Piersall was
naturally crazy and would also make you laugh so hard. The team was secondary,I used to love the unintentional comedy of those two.

LOL! I know what ya mean, Winslow.

I grew up in NC in the 60's listening to Harry Caray and Jack Buck do the Cardinal games on the radio with my father. I was stationed in northern Indiana during the early 70's and went to see the Cards and Cubs play at Wrigley and Busch stadiums... for a kid who grew up on the rivalry, but lived so far away, it was great to get an opportunity to see both teams at their home parks. The Card's have had some lean years in that time, too, but the records never seemed to matter much when they hooked up with the Cubbies.

BTW, great call on Harry and Jimmy, what a pair they were. I remember Harry hawking Budweiser for the Cards, and Falstaff when he was with the Sox, but for some reason I can't remember what he was drinking with the Cubs.

Anyway, good luck to your Cubbies.... they definitely do not look like the Cubs I remember.

Ozzie posesses a sense of humor much like my own.Actually our Mayor says
the silliest things with all sincerity, sometimes he sounds like Yogi Berra.A Mayorial
press conference is usually interesting since you never know what hilarious thing
he will say."Homeless?"........."Get a house!" and such bon mots spill from him with no effort on his part.

Here's another one... the Cubs and White Sox are tied at the bottom of the 5th, and play by play guys on fox say:

"It's beginning to smell like rain."

Can you smell the rain in Chicago land?

Okay... Fukedome cranks one out at the top of the first. But before that, did I not see a foul grounder on the right? Instead of being fielded by a great looking blonde in a mini-skirt, didn't I see a guy in shorts with hairy legs feilding the foul grounder Shocked Shocked . What's up with that Question

I'm feeling kind of devilish...

Do you notice the sign behind home plate

"Flooring Liquidators - Hardwood Flooring For Less 1-800-FLOORING"?

I'm tempted to phone and place an order to Alberta...

Hey, I just noticed something... they change those signs after every inning, now it's US Cellular Surprised That's how they pay these salaries.

Now it's

"Ford and You"

Now it's

Jeweler of the Cardinals Shane Co.com (top) of 6th

(BTW, it's a good game.. I like Zambrano's fiestiness)

Now it's Hardee's (every half inning it changes) bottom of 6th

I wish Lou would use his damned cell phone and get someone from the bullpen loosening up.... on the other hand, the Cards aren't giving him much reason.... maybe they'll pull Zambrano early because he just came back off the DL.... I hope so, anyway.
