You got your wish Very Happy

I remember the game when Zambrano got injured. He didn't want to come out of the game.

This afternoon Mike Kaye & Ken Singleton on the Yankee broadcast crew talked about "pitch count". They both suggested that there is too much emphasis on it. However, these guys are high-priced merchandise and you don't want them on the sidelines all season.

Totally agree, Puffs.... especially not in July, with half the season left.

Well, Pujols' blast helps the cause, but we're running out of outs.....

Kudos to the Cubs. Zambrano kills the Cards again. Gotta win games 2 and 3 to pick up a game in the standings.... can't get swept and fall 5 1/2 back.

Good game... and not that it made any difference in the outcome, but the HP umpire blew the 2nd and 3rd strike calls on Glaus.

I didn't catch the umps calls on Glaus, but if it was the Red Sox I would be following it in detail...

Damn JT, you'se rootin' and tootin' for the Cards Laughing . One of my boyhood friends was an ardent Cards fan in the 60's and loved Stan the Man. Last year he passed away to Cardinal heaven.

However, I'm pulling for the Cubbie's in the National league.

Yeah, Puffs, I've been a long-time fan of the Cards... from the early to mid-60's. But I'm not such a hard-head that I can't wish the Cubs a little bit of good luck... if not the team, the least I can do is wish long-suffering fans of the Cubs the best of luck, anyway.

LOL! Yeah, you're right, Hermit. After that display on the second strike, he should have known he wasn't going to get the call on the next one in the exact same spot. Umps are like wives... no matter how wrong they are, they always get the final word. drunken

Tough day, eh, Puffs? Heck of a game between the Yanks and the Sawks, though. Nice comeback by the Cards to score 3 in the bottom of the ninth to take game 2 from the Cubbies..... Ankiel with with an earlier homer and then a 2-out ninth inning single with the bases loaded to get the winning runs across for the Cards.... that kid's quite a story.

If tomorrow's games are as good as these were, should be a fun day.

Damn it all! Gotta give it to the Cubs, though.... if not for the improbable bottom of the 9th comeback last night, the Cubs could have easily swept the Cards this weekend.

Oh well, lots of games to be played yet. If the Cards can hang in this thing long enough, maybe they can get some pitching help and make another run at the Cubs.... another right-handed bat wouldn't hurt either.

Nice win for the Cubbies tonight, taming Sabbathia. The Cards are also hanging in there.

I watched part of the Cubbie game last night (napped through the middle innings). Two nice wins by the Cubbies against the Brewers best in Milwaukee. And the Cards are still hanging in there.
