| and I'm getting excited. This is the best time of year. I love college football, pro is alright, but college is fantastic. I'll be able to get back in this forum once some football threads get going. I'm the exact opposite of a baseball fan. I'm an anti-fan of baseball one could say. Point being, I don't like it.
Luckily, football begins Thursday. |

| Yeah, no kidding. It's about time. All this baseball talk has me I can't wait to hear the marching bands playing again on Saturdays. Definitely the best time of the year. |

| I enjoy football but not as much as baseball
Do you want to talk Farve??? Now that is .
By the way the CFL has started and our own Edmonton Eskimos are 4-2 after not making the playoffs last season . BTW, Warren Moon was Edmonton's quarterback before he went to the NFL... |

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

This is true. CFL is hardcore.
I'm tired of hearing about Farve myself.
I'm helping my dad coach my youngest brother's (12 years old) football team. I drew up the offensive playbook. It's fun stuff. If my brother keeps his skill level and size, he'll be the next Tebow. |

That's great PipeBrew .
One of things I picked up in the Farve conservations is that playbooks today in the NFL are about 4 inches thick . And I believe it was Warren Moon who was interviewed in the discussion who commented that playbooks now are much more complicated than in his day.
It wasn't that many years ago that the NFL wouldn't give Baltimore a franchise, so the CFL jumped in. And if memory serves right, I think the CFL had a franchise in Las Vegas. Now there's talk of moving the Buffalo Bills to Toronto.
There's something about 3 downs instead of 4 downs... but please don't this confused with Australian rules football |

| Yeah, Fall is in the air here in Georgia, too, Brew.... we've had a couple of days recently where the temperature and the humidity both dropped below 90..... time to break out the team jackets again.
Football practices started yesterday for college teams, and the locals are pumped because one poll has UGA number one. I'm just happy to see Butch Davis turn the Tar Heel program around and get my Carolina boys back on the road to respectability again.
Good luck to all.... hope it's a great season. _________________ What, me worry? |

Right now we're up to about 6 formations and 80 plays. I'm working on a couple more formations and some shifting into and out of different formations. So, by the end of the season, it'll probably be well over 100 plays. |

A guy I went to high school with, Garrett Reynolds, plays at UNC. He'll be a junior this year. |

| Awesome, Brew! Garrett is the keystone of what we all hope will be a vastly improved offensive line.... if we had 5 young men like him, there'd be no doubt.... he's just an awesome young man, very talented and driven.... of course, it helps when you're 6' 7", 310 lbs. of muscular determination. Unfortunately, this will be the last year we get to enjoy his efforts, as he's part of a very small group of seniors on this year's squad.
It should be cool to see one of your Strawberry Plains Carter HS schoolmates taken in next year's NFL draft though, eh.... even if he's not wearing that horrid orange-colored uni from just down the road? _________________ What, me worry? |

Orange??? Oh, you mean that yellowish uniform the Vols wear. Actually it makes it all the better, because UNC offers him a full ride and UT wanted him to walk on and pay his way.
I can't stand UT athletics, absolutely no support to the local kids. He's a senior...crap, I guess that's right. If I were still in school, I'd be a senior, unfortunately not graduating, seems like all the programs are 5 years now.
When he left Carter, he was 6'7'' 250, if I'm not mistaken. I haven't talked to him in a while, but he is a ridiculously hard worker. |

| Go Steelers !
This notwithstanding, in the big picture,
Baseball -- Everything else is just back-and-forth.
Think about it
