| | I wasn't watching this one carefully as the Celtics were playing at the same time... It's one game and the Penquins will come back.... |

| Hazmat... have you recovered from your party or are you in a coma? This is just game one. Adjustments will be made. The Red Wings are going on experience, the Penquins will come back in full force. Believe in the "FORCE". _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. | It was tough to watch. I've only been peeking in on game 2 here and there throughout the evening. At least they've only put 2 in the net so far
It's not going to be a very long series if this keeps up. Nothing but respect for Detroit right now, though. They're as advertised...hands down the best in the NHL. I just hope Pittsburgh reaches down and grabs their sacks...if for nothing else than to be reminded that they actually have something there. I won't mind losing the series should it come to that, but keep the broom in the closet, please. |

| | Well, like you I was just peeking during breaks in the basketball game. Let's hope the home rink and fans will give them a lift. |

| | The consesus of Canuk commentators, where all they talk about is the Stanley Cup, is that Crosby needs a lot more ice time and Fleury needs to be better in goal and make some big stops. |

| I'm happy they won, but the stupid stupid stupid penalties(yeah, I'm talkin to you Gill and Malkin!) have got to stop.
Fleury was mostly impressive last night. He made a few circus saves in there. I felt bad for him a little on the one that came in from against the boards just outside the faceoff circle. Totally not his fault. He was screened by his own player. Been there and that just sucks...especially if you've been screaming "SCREEEEEEN!" at the top of your lungs through the whole sequence.
Malkin had a better game(excluding the boneheaded penalty) this time around, but still needs to step it up yet another notch.
The Kid? Oh man, what more can you say about this guy? He played his tail off on both ends of the ice. I think I could watch him play forever(or at least 10-15 more years in Pittsburgh!!!)
Detroit is still completely and totally impressive. They just know how to play the game and play it well. Just seems like they're always a step ahead of the Pens nearly 100% of the time. Even they're bad passes seem to end up as good passes. I can't help but sit there with my mouth hanging open when I think about how Franzen crapped all over not one but two Pens as he sashayed his way to a goal.
Only three more to win, Pens!!! |

| Hazmat... pretty cool
Throughout the season, Georges Laraque is a "phone-in panelist & commentator" on a hockey radio show here in Edmonton, at least once a week. Next to Wayne Gretzky, one of the most beloved and well thought off hockey figures in our city. I believe he still makes his home here in Edmonton.
Georges is a hell of a community person, attending charities and doing lots of PR work.
Interesting, I read today that Game 3 had the highest television ratings for a third game in the finals in Ten Years. I assume that would be in the USA.
First thing you here on the local radio yesterday, "Now, we have a series!"
Hope so... goooooooooo Penquins. |

| That game took the wind out of my sails just a little bit. Hopefully they can steal one in Detroit tonight, but even if they do, it'll still be a tough row to hoe.
Can I get a squooshed penquin emoticon? |

| Johnny, rumours are rampant today that the Maple Leafs have hired Ron Wilson as their new coach. Sports commentators are literally up in arms. The Maple Leafs have an interim GM, Cliff Fletcher. they need to hire a GM before they hire their coach.
Man, I didn't know Ron Wilson was so disliked as a coach. They're saying that he's not a good coach and is not a good person. WOW. Apparently, if they do hire Ron Wilson, they are predicting that they'll run him out of town before the next season ends. |
