They were also named the NHL's biggest disappointment during the first half of the season...especially with their crappy home game record...
Oh well...maybe we can trade marleau and get a new coach if we lose in the playoffs for what seems like the billionth time _________________ Tobacco Pictures http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o102/WJUStudent/Tobacco/

I don't think they'll be able to win the rest of the series lol, face it...it's over... the 's are too good and we need a change of the guard I think...new coach might be enough to get them motivated to actually win a cup for once _________________ Tobacco Pictures http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o102/WJUStudent/Tobacco/

| I've been reading this thread since it started and all I can ask is...... don't the Pens get any love here????
They're undefeated in the post-season to date and are playing like a machine out on the ice. Malkin is a STUD and Fleury's showing up to be one hell of a young goalie. All around, the youth and skill on this team has me VEEEERY HAPPY for not only this post-season run, but several seasons to come. If...if...if only Super Mario and Co can come up with some cash flow to keep these guys together, it should get interesting in western PA.
Here's to hoping for a cross-state conference final. Go PENS and..yeah, I guess go stinkin flyers. |

| haha the penguins are doin great! Why are they called the penguins btw? Don't think I've ever heard of any penguins in Pennsylvania... The penguin/red wings series is going to be intense...we'll have to see how those young guys compare to some guys that have been doin it for years _________________ Tobacco Pictures http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o102/WJUStudent/Tobacco/

Just listened to one of our top sports reporters whose in New York following the series... his report is that the Penguins are ahead of schedule (re-building a team) and could take it all and a lot of credit goes to there coach.
However, they have to go through the Habs first !!!

| Well Montreal had another slight set-back tonight, meaning they won't be as rested as they could be when they eventually face the Penguins.
The Sharks have started a winning streak tonight as they begin to take the series from the Stars.

| I keep thinking detroit is in the eastern confrence...
Yes the sharks pulled off a pretty big win for them...but their chances of winning the rest of this series is pretty slim, especially with their horrible home record and the amazing ability to kick butt at the shark tank, I think dallas has this series in the palm of their hand... _________________ Tobacco Pictures http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o102/WJUStudent/Tobacco/

| I have to admit, I pay very, very little attention to the West in the NHL. I seriously have not much of a clue what's going on in the series on that side of the country. I'm so locked in to this amazing run the Pens are making and what's shaping up around them in their conference it's difficult to widen my field of vision, so to speak.
Why are they called the Penguins, you ask? That, my friend, I cannot answer. The only Penguins I've ever seen in PA are either skating after a puck or in a zoo some place.
Slow...you've got a bunch of faith in Montreal They're down 3-1, it's going to be a tough row to hoe for those fellas. I have to say, I'm truly rooting for Philly, as much as I despise pretty much all things Philly(Western PA upbringing will do that to a boy!). I just want to see the cross-state head-banging that will go on should they face off in the conference finals. |

| Anyone else notice a lack of fighting or the cameras turning away? With the Sharks and Stars the NHL made them promise they would behave in this series [unlike their last regulation game that had several fights] and overall in the playoffs the NHL said it would not tolerate late game fighting...
The announcers for the Sharks talk about here there used to be much more fighting and how fighting can change the tone of a game and fire up a team and yet whenever there is a fight the camera turns away, looks at the coach...you can totally tell they do it on purpose cause it shows them starting to fight then it cuts away....Last night in game 4 there was a big fight and it cut to commercial...
I dunno, I don't think it's just me imagining it, but for some reason they don't want much fighting anymore...and fightings the best part! _________________ Tobacco Pictures http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o102/WJUStudent/Tobacco/
