| | I think Philly's just mailing it in at this point. They played terribly last night. It's killing them not having Timonen out there, and with Coburn going down for last night's game, it just got ugly. Here's to hoping the Pens finish this up tomorrow night! GO PENS!!!! |

Bah phooey on the Red Wings!!
Compare the short-hander to Malkin's smoker from 10' out in game 1 vs Philly. No comparison.
Realistically speaking, though, if it ends up Detroit/Pittsburgh for the Cup, it's going to be one heck of a battle. I know Detroit will be the favorite going in, but I don't know that I've seen a couple of teams so closely matched. Only edge the Pens may have is being more physical than Detroit likes to play. We shall see.
Until then.... I'm not sure which way I want this game to go tonight. On one hand, I'd love to see the sweep happen(I HATE PHILLY!!!) on the other hand, I kinda want to see the Pens win it out at home. Onlyl 8.5 hours till face off. I CAN'T SIT STILL AT WORK AGAIN!!!! |

| There was a sign "Penguins Can't Fly" held by a fan... clever.
Staal had a good night. In Canada, it's often in the genes. The Sutter family not far from here produced great players... grinders... The Staal family seem to be the same.
Hazmat.... what does the girl friend get tonight? _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. It's like hearing that Pope Benedict XVI had 'em rolling in the aisles with his stand-up routine at the Vatican." -Dan Shaughnessy |

Locked out of my apartment
Actually, she had to work last night so I emerged less scathed than the Pens did. Tonight, I'm sure, will be a different story.
Pens played like they were asleep in the 1st. Nothing was clicking, Philly was zipping around, making good passes, forcing turnovers at will it seemed. Oh well, at least that gives the Pens a chance to bag it at home and move on. I don't mind the series being extended in light of Det/Dal having to go yet another game. I'd rather they not get a few days extra rest should Pitts advance to face them in the Cup series. |

| Holy crap yeah! Wasn't expecting the Flyers to give it up like a drunken prom date. But I'm a happy guy because of it!!!
Now the wait and see session starts. Maybe Detroit can take a lesson from Pittsburgh and close their series out and we can get this thing started. Either way, I have at least 4 more games of hockey so I win no matter what! |

| Hazmat... I'm pulling to the Penguins. I loved needling my neighbour this afternoon who is a Flyers fan.
In Canukville, where hockey is always on the sports shows, the consensus is that the Red Wings blueliners will create havoc for the Penguins... but I believe the Penguins are in a destiny journey and will soon be lifting Lord Stanley's cup and skating it around the rink... hopefully at home... _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. | Don't be surprised if you slap on a #71 Pens jersey before it's all over, Puffs
Sucks a little, though. Game 1 is Saturday at 8:00pm and I'm having a party. Guess I'm going to have to be the rude host for a few hours. They'll get over it. The guests certainly aren't coming for my company..hehe. Maybe I'll get a keg of Iron City |

Yeah, it should be one hell of a smack around series. It's definitely going to be fast as both teams can skate their asses off. Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!!!
Good luck to your Wings, but not too damn much! |

And the gloves are off
What gets me is the bias of the NHL towards Detroit and Toronto... . Hocket town USA & Hockey town Canada... as if there are no other teams in the league... What's Toronto done in decades... Sure Detroit's done well in the last number of years, but it doesn't automatically hand them the cup. Osgoode is going to see lots of rubber and it will be behind him in the net
Penguins are going to whomp some A$$ !!! _________________ "Manny changing the attitude in the clubhouse. It's like hearing that Pope Benedict XVI had 'em rolling in the aisles with his stand-up routine at the Vatican." -Dan Shaughnessy |

| I am sooooo freaking amped for the game tomorrow night I hardly know what to do with myself. Thankfully I have a LOAD of things I have to get done before 5pm tomorrow, so I'll be occupied and won't start shooting pucks around my house...at least until after the party starts |

Awright...I see I'm the minority here. Thank goodness that SP's pulling for the Pens or I'd be completely on my own.
Bugger the Red Wings....bugger Osgood and bugger Chelios...how's he handle a puck when he's gotta push a walker around in front of him??
It's going to be a whale of a series, that's for sure. You Wings fans better not get too high on yourselves. They're currently 1a in terms of best teams in the NHL, but 1b is comin to town and it should be a humdinger. I'm looking forward to possibly one of the best Stanley Cup Finals ever. Good luck to thos stinkin Red Wings, but better luck to THE PITTTTTTSSSSSBURGGGGGGGGH PENNNNNNNNNG-WINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNS!!!!
