| This guy is set to make a ton of money.
After today, he should go to a team in the National League... he hits a monster home-run 440 feet (some are saying 480). He could be a pinch hitter on the side.
If Cleveland can't turn it around by trading deadline, one of the NL teams should go after him. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WixcqHFm-H8 |

| Looks like CC will be gone soon according to ESPN... likely the Brewers or Dodgers...
Too bad... but that's today's market... Cleveland should be landing some nice prospects in return... maybe Cleveland will become next year's Tampa Ray's... Greedy clubs like the Bosox and Yanks are staying away from this one. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WixcqHFm-H8 |

| The Brewers have enterd the classic "rent-a-player" program. Their best young prospect and some other farm hands. Their farm system isn't strong so they are going for broke, apparently calculating that this year is their best chance in over twenty years.
After this season C.C and Ben Sheets will both be free agents. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WixcqHFm-H8 |

| Frankly, as an Indians fan, I could care less about seeing CC go. If he hadn't have totally and completely failed in the playoffs last year (3 terrible starts), the Indians would have been in the Series. He has yet to prove that he can pitch under pressure.
Plus the greed necessary to turn down $70 plus million from the team that developed his talent turns me off. Let him get his $100 million elsewhere.
Offensively, the 2008 Indians are as bad a team as I can remember in Cleveland. They need hitters more than they need pitching right now. _________________ The World's Leading Collector of Chheda Pipes. So far...#25, #32, #39, #53 & #68. |

| | Quote: | Last updated: 7/08, 11:06 a.m. Indians, Sox talked Sabathia before Brewers made deal The Herald's Michael Silverman wrote on Tuesday that the Indians had discussed C.C. Sabathia with the Sox: "In the past few days, according to a source with knowledge of the talks between the Indians and Red Sox, Cleveland did not come down from its request of one package headlined by righthander Michael Bowden, the other featuring the Sox’ best position-player prospects, including Lars Anderson, Jed Lowrie and Josh Reddick." The Sabathia sweepstakes ended early this trade season, with the Brewers acquiring the Indians ace for outfield prospect Matt LaPorta and three other minor leaguers. |
Michael Bowden is another gem in the Red Sox system.
Free agency really screws a lot of teams in all sports. The rich get richer even with salary caps and luxury caps.
There is some thought that the Indians could have gotten more for Sabathia if they waited closer to the trade deadline. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WixcqHFm-H8 |
