| | Quote: | The man they simply refer to as Dice-K back in New England will kick off the 2008 season for the defending World Series champion Red Sox by taking the mound on Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics in a game that starts at 6:05 a.m. ET.
In most ports of Red Sox Nation, they'll be eating their breakfast and watching Matsuzaka all at the same time. But to those fans lucky enough to have a seat at Tokyo Dome, they'll simply be clapping or chanting.

I'll have to get up at 4:00 am or not bother to go to bed!!!

| Yoo Ken, just filled up my pipe with Brown Boggie (little left over from last October) after 2nd inning. Hopefully it will help Dice-K to settle down and get the Bosox a going.

| Damn... I've been up since....... ...
BTW... Ken, it was Dark Plug not Brown Bogie... the Darl Plug sure does wonders... Dice-K started pitching like he can and the bats came alive.

| Very glad for the win, but it's a bummer not having opening day here at Fenway Park. Although it would be pretty cold here, especially starting a week or more early. It's a ritual that I've observed for many years. With a start at the Cask n' Flagon then on down the street for the festivities. Dice-K seems to be getting off to a really slow start very much like last year, but once he settles in he throws some great stuff. Never thought I'd live to see TWO world series here in Mass. Fantastic. Way to start the season, with Manny and Moss taking home a season opener. |
