| I am a lifelong resident of the Chicago area, attended my first Cubs game in 1952 when Hank Sauer was the big man on the team.Until about 20 years ago you couldn't give those tickets away. The most exciting thing that happened there was when one of the portable hot dog wagons caught on fire.We used to go there for free when the park district had outings for the kids. There was ladies day on Tuesday[they got in free],doubleheaders,.50 cents bleacher seats, all designed to attract fans.20 years ago it changed, now it's the hip place to be and it costs plenty to go to a game today. They are cursed somehow, don't expect anything great. Why one of the boys who retired from work a couple years ago had a fatal heart attack after watching them lose a game last year. All us guys at work just shook our heads,we know the Cubs.
