Say what you will about him otherwise, the Man of Steel was a sound judge of
a good smoke. I've heard that Ambassador George Kennan brought in so much
Edgeworth to the USSR for Stalin during WWII that the diplomatic pouch was
known as the tobacco pouch.

Winslow, cant get the book off hand. (its at home and im on the drill rig) According to "Tobacco" Stalin also smoked ripped up Russian cigs. Since I dont have the book in front of me I could be wrong. From what I understand Russian cigs pack a punch in the nic dept.

I've read a lot of books written by German soldiers who served on the Eastern
Front,the tobacco was an obnoxious blend called Majorcha which gave off a stench
which sometimes betrayed the Russians prescence.
