I know many here already know this,but some don't.I've enjoyed my pipes
to a greater degree when I fill up this way although some tobacco cuts are
difficult to manage.

The practicality of packing a small bowl with Va flake using this method is beyond me (as I think you suggest). But it works well with ribbon cuts. And big bowls. I find it does provide for a smoother smoke if I get it spot on.
