| Hi, all. Got my hands on some deer antler and thought I'd turn my hand to making some tampers. I made two for a friend without any brass, but these are my first ones with brass feet. The aluminum pipe nail in the pics is just for size reference and not for sale.
Both tampers are totally handmade, shaped only with a hacksaw, files and sandpaper. They are slightly curved and have a shaped edge for scraping and a pointed end for picking.
The larger one is 3 3/8" tall, deer antler with a brass foot. The foot is about 9/16ths" at its widest.
The smaller is 2 1/8" tall, deer antler and cherry wood with a brass foot. This one is a perfect size for a pocket tamper. The foot is about 1/2" at its widest. The first picture shows the cherry right after sanding. The others show the tamp after the cherry had time to darken a bit.
They are $25 ea. Shipping is $3. If there is interest, I will happily make more and list them as they are made.
Thanks for looking.
