Hey dawwgboy, no one is offended. It's just to help prevent out members from getting ripped off. It's not 100 percent but it helps curb those that aren't very honest.

Now maybe that 30 post rule is a good idea. I could use a 30 call rule for customers on my website www.leftcoasttackle.com
They would have to call me 30 times before I sold them a fly rod hhhmmmm
Well, at least my wife and dog think I'm trustworthy Smile If someone would like to contact me via my email on my website than perhaps I could give you info on my pipe collection. That way no one here thinks I'm going to rip them off.

I also was unaware of the rule & was recently burned on a large transaction / gift. An Indian girl {came aboard} & posted a few times. She spun a great tale & sob story {not much money, single mom, struggling actress} She emailed me re some tobacco that I had to trade & offered to buy it as she had nothing to trade. I agreed to a price, threw in twice the amount requested & also gave her a pipe {to help her out}. She promptly paid with Paypal so I sent the package. Seven days later I received a Paypal notice that she had paid by Paypal Echeck which failed. I contacted her , she said that she contacted Paypal & that they made a mistake so she issued a replacement Paypal payment. You guessed it. It also failed. She was a very smart con artist "Ldydoc" After 10 days Paypal will do nothing. She had a website, a phony story, a phony name etc Websites which can be had for free are no assurance of a reputable business

I DON'T THINK THAT YOU SHOULD BE CIRCUMVENTING OUR RULES BY ASKING MEMBERS TO CONTACT YOU AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT WE HAVE 30 POST RULE.

I think you may be right. It is a good rule. Not a cure all but a good start @ slowing down "hit & runs"

Funny thing was I also had a bad feeling & read all of her posts before agreeing. In one post someone asked her if she was a Doctor. She replied not a real doc but .... I thought that was kind of weird Ldydoc Her sob story got me as I have several divorced & struggling siblings so I felt sorry for her
I am not really too upset about losing the money but would have rather have donated it to several other people here that could likely have used it more. This is a great board & I have done 25+ pleasant & sucessful trades here & would like to help keep it that way
