I am aggressively looking for Tonni's and Formers. Anybody have any to put on the trading floor?

Hi Ian,

I have a quarter bent brandyglass straightgrain with art amber stem. I'm not actively looking to deacquisition the piece, but I might consider a trade, depending on what was offered.

As you will undoubtedly see, it is in excellent condition.

Here are some pics:

Ian, it is a Grade 8. It weighs 56 grams.

Interesting, by the way, that I asked Tonni why in the world it wasn't graded a Viking because it has no flaws or wash anywhere. I didn't have it with me at the time and he said there must be a reason it wasn't a Viking.

I showed it to him later and he couldn't explain why it wasn't a Viking. As you know, Tonni is rarely without an opinion when confronted with a situation like this.

I think it is an 8 because it is such a conservative shape.

I will tell you this: it is among the best Tonnis I've ever seen.

Hmmmm...

Let me do some searching around this afternoon. It's a bit big for me but I love the pipe! Tonni knows how to make a big pipe comfortable too!

Oh I am terrible.

I am looking at this pipe, really studying the superb staining that brought out such a nice straight grain. Then I look closer and study the pronounced rings, and I was wondering how much nicer it might be as a deep sandblast.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. It seems I am always trying to turn nice smooth pipes into sandblasts.
