| I've been wanting to try an Oom Paul shape for quite a while now. If you have one doing nothing and might want to part with it, shoot me a pm. I don't care one bit about the brand, nor am I looking for pristine condition. What I'm most interested in is determining how comfortable the overall shape is for me.
Thanks, showme |

| I used to collect oom pauls. I just liked the way they looked. I had Dunhills, GBD, Comoy, and Castello-probably 30 or so in total.
I sold them all off because they are very difficult to keep clean while smoking (lot of gurgle), and I got tired of the smoke coming up into my eyes.
They are a great pipe to just let hang in the mouth, just didn't enjoy smoking them.
Things to consider......

| Thanks for the tips, Hagley. Those are the kind of things I'd like to find out about beforehand.

| | What Mike says can be true for wet smoking tobaccos, but a dry one should not cause gurgle unless you salivate into the stem. As for smoke in the eyes, that depends on the degree of the bend and whether or not you are a clencher. I enjoyed reading with an oompaul in my teeth. Chuck's photos show 2 different angles. |

| Mark,
I'm pretty sure he reads the funnies. Where else would he come up with those corny jokes?.
I have a couple of Oom Pauls and haven't had any problems with them smoking wet, but they do require a little extra care keeping the mortise area clean.

| | To prove I can read, I will send Mark and Mike a package of toilet paper. They obviously need some. |

| | Sure Mike. Cheryl Crow is advocating using only one sheet per bathroom visit. She makes the green movement look awful brown, at least on her underwear. |

| No need to send the paper CP. Out here we just use oak tree leaves! _________________

| | Mark, be careful not to use poison oak leaves. You may need a lot of that NC tar to stop the itching. |
