Wanted: Tsuge Churchwarden

Smoking Pipes was selling these about a year ago. Tsuge churchwardens (not Ikebanas) with bamboo shanks. They ran between $100-$150 depending on finish. If anyone has one they'd like to get rid of I'd be interested in purchasing it or possibly trading for a closely valued pipe.

I have one,lightly smoked Tokyo,black sandblasted which I got last year from SmokingPipes.E-Mail me,prefer trade.

I don't believe these were in the Tokyo line. They were fashioned after a kiseru, very long (at least ten inches) and most had like a three to five knuckle bamboo extension. I can't find a picture of them to save my life but for a while they were quite plentiful.

I finally found a picture.

This one has a prince shaped bowl, others were closer to a dublin usually with a plateau rim.

I talked with smokingpipes via email about them and they doubted they could get anymore unless it comes up in an estate. That's why I figured I'd post it out to you all. Laughing

Have you tried Iwan Ries yet. They do come up with some stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else.. My wife goes there alot to get pipes to surprise me with. She has a great eye for what I do and don't like and can pick one out for me anytime LOL sunny

Thanks my man! When they were available I was still building my collection to have a rotation that suited me and I thought they were kind of gimmicky but I've been kicking myself for not getting one ever since.

Yes,mine is not what you're after.I am so used to my big Ardor Bambu's that those Tsuges seem so dainty.

Well SP got an estate one in but it's selling for much more than they had them originally and it's bamboo extension is jacked up... Mad
