First up this evening is Watch City Simply VOriental in a Radice Twin Bore Rusticated Bent Apple. My first smoke with this blend. Next up will be Sutliff Field and Stream Match in a hand carved pipe from a friend who is not a pipe carver, another first On the tobacco.
Kxg, let us know how you like the F&S match. Had it back in the 70s. Was pretty good. A lot of the "match" tobaccos, to me, just don't measure up. Or maybe my tastes have changed. Really liked the original London Dock but the D&R match was disappointing.

Two bowls of P&C's B.S. 759 Match in a Wally Frank straight grain DH size 4 billiard and my Pipa Croci diamond-shanked billiard. I can't swear this Match blend is just like ye olde 759; been too many years since having any! It's not as "full' as say Blue Mountain; but on it's own it's a fine light-to-medium English!!

C&D Stratfordshire in English Ben Wade.

With all the sales this month on C&D, Sutliff, and Wilke, I've got 29 new tobaccos to try, not even counting the BoB trades! After a cursory bowl of each, like Paul_of_Burley said, I look forward to settling in with a few of the most promising blends, to really get to know them.

Like a game of chess (even with the 50-move rule) there are so many permutations of English/Balkan blends possible that it would take a dozen bowls a day for a lifetime to explore them all. All I can say is that this one ticks all the boxes for me: full texture, pleasing aroma and aftertaste, delicious retrohale. I'll be posting a 4 star review on this one! :)

G&H's Best Brown #2 in a large bent meer. Black coffee on the side because, well, caffeine and nicotine go great together.

Glad to see you made the transition to the new format. I've been worried about a few members who have been absent, wondering if it was the transition, or Covid, or who knows what. How's that 10 year old stash of Orlik golden slice coming along?

29, wow, I'm still working on the 12 I got from you a couple weeks ago. You are the man.

Well, I have to admit, I mixed up my matches. I was smoking Match Flying Dutchman rather than Match Field & Stream. I bought both blends on the recent Smoking Pipes sale and had a moment of post COVID confusion (I’m blaming all memory issues on the COVID). As far as the Flying Dutchman goes, I’m not a good judge as I’ve yet to fully recover my smell/taste post COVID; seriously. It smoked fine with no problems. I won’t smoke any more until I can have a better sensory experience.

Remember the original Flying Dutchman from the 70's. Not my cup of tea even then. A bit bland and smoked hot unless you really nursed it.

WE STILL FIGHTING !

My dear friends, due to the Quarantine new rules the fine from Police is it's 300 euro (355 $) for 1st time and 500 euro (592$ ) for the second in a row if they caught you sitting drinking coffee and smoking in public. It's a great risk for me so don't think that photos like this is something easy these days here. Nevertheless i refuse to compromise and i am going out to live some happy moments as a free Man.

Thanks Brunello. The transition to the new format didn't present too many issues and no issue with Covid that I'm aware of. I just haven't been smoking as much lately.

The well-aged OGS has proven itself to be a phenomenal smoke. Remarkably I still have a good bit left of that tin since I haven't been smoking as much. Maybe I'm saving it for the post-Covid celebration.

Hang in there my man. With the outcome of elections here in the US I am a bit concerned that we may be headed down the same dark path. Although we probably have a few more non compliant red necks here than in Greece.

Back from the ranch. Taking a mid day break with some Sutliff creme brulee in an aero dedicated Stsnwell rusticated full bent pot. Black tea on the side.

Finishing up the day with GLP Cairo in a 1/4 bent bulldog meer. This did not really do it for me so added some black cav so I could finish the tin.

Trying to.finish off the John Bull burley I got from P&C in my trusty MM General. Note: don't waste any cash on this stuff. Much better out there.
