My usual, some good ole Urban Cowboy in a MM cob with morning coffee. Recovering nicely from yesterdays surgery to remove pins from my index finger.

I'm on my third pipe of the day - I just don't like posting until I'm sitting at the pooter with a normal size keyboard. My fingers aren't nimble enough for the phone - requires infinite patience and backspacing to correct fumbles. Anyway, I've had Windjammer and Janus again today and in the medico Gothic (a comfortable lightweight pipe for walkabouts) my second tweak of Windjammer which is really hitting the spot for me. :)

Wow, are Bru and I the only ones piping today, lol? PS LNF in a Stanwell brushed black bent pot. Still can't believe howell these smoke for a $30/40 pipe. Tea on the side. No alcohol for 24 hours after surgery. Only 2 hours to go. Yea.

Wanted a bit more oomph before dinner. Some Rattrays red rapp in my other Randy Willey, a freehand grade 55 1/4 bent dublin. Much smaller than my other Wiley but a good smoker for a shorter bowl when I'm pressed for time or want a short smoke of something stronger. Honey bourbon on the side. Yeh I know I'm breaking the 24 hour rule but what the hey, 23 hours seems good enough for me.

Forgot the pic.

Two more pipes since my last post, one excellent and one sucky. After dinner I had some Hearth & Home Frenchy's Sunzabitches which has been sitting in a jar for two years. I still find it too funky, with a vaguely sour stomach taste, so I only made it through half a bowl. After that I needed something good: 1994 vintage Skiff in a meerschaum claw. Toasted pine nuts, sunflower seeds and mellow aged Virginia goodness. I think I stop on that high note, pour myself a good drink call it a day! :)

Dark drizzly day of 49 degrees - seems more like November than almost June! Enjoying a bowl of 2008 Germain EighteenTwenty, a refined medium-light English loaded with spice and toasted sunflower seeds. Paneled Design Berlin.

Out on the deck on a cold afternoon in between rain drops, smoking Ken Byron Ventures Spaghetti Western in a Savinelli Estella 320 KS. Coffee and music for accompaniment. Still can’t believe what a crappy forecast this Memorial Day weekend has in store!

Staying mostly inside today. Watch City Nor'Easter in a Design Berlin Siegfried. Seemed appropriate for the nasty weather!

Nice long bowl of Urban Cowboy in my Butz Choquin magnum. Good for 3 cups of coffee. Nice day here but a bit warm at 84. Heading downtown later to enjoy the Phippen museum western art show.

Still dark and depressing weather here, but at least it is cool (48 degrees). Clipping some battered down shrubs while savoring some Wilke Commander in a DB Royal Star.

First bowl, Rattrays Red Rapp in my newly acquired Randy Wiley grade 7 freehand. Pumpkin spice tea with. Not sure where a grade 7 fits in his grading system but smoking good for $50 off Ebay.

Continued exploration of Windjammer in different pipes, presently halfway through a bowl in a Charatan meer, with budget bourbon on the side (Evan Williams). I'm not a Va-Per guy but this was advertised as having nutty black walnut Burley so I gave it a shot. I have to agree with DrT999 that the Burley is very faint to non-existent by bowl's end, contributing only a muted earthy quality, so I can't imagine this appealing to Va-Per fans looking for clarity along the lines of Escudo. Other Pease blends I like a lot better. Going to load up a bowl of Wilke 400 to end the night on a good note!
