Whoa!! Are you trying to kill us? That's quite a question. Favorite in what way? For example, I had a large Boswell rhodesian several years ago that is easily my favorite pipe in hand. It was so perfect that it was literally a new sensation. You handle thousands of pipes while working in shops, going to shows, trading in circles, etc. Then many years into the hobby, you handle this pipe and think, "I've liked how pipes felt in hand, but THIS is another level like never before." Unfortunately, the draw was like a McDonald's straw, and I don't care for that kind of draw. Sold it bye-bye. Or a very early production Ashton that was quite large, but with an astounding ring grain blast, with pointy birdseye blast on the bottom that was nice to run the inside of your ring finger on when smoked, and so light that it had to be made out of balsa wood. A favorite in craftsmanship and wood.

Point being, I can think of a lot of favorites on different lists for different reasons. Not to be contrary, but this is the kind of question that could cause someone to pop a spring.

Favorite? I'm lucky if I know what day it is. My favorite pipe(s) are the high grades I gave to my daughter to sell on Ebay when she was unemployed and wouldn't take money from me.
Today's favorite is a Mark Twain cob that I smoked while having my morning coffee.

LOL! Apparently you love them all, but there's got to be one or two perhaps, no hard feelings...
Sorry for the kind of question and thank you for your answers.
And no, I'm not trying to kill anyone. ha ha

Thank you all for sharing.

Don't let these guys rattle you Angie. However they are right in most cases. When you have maybe a dozen pipes you might have a favorite. When the count goes north of 50 it's hard to pick one or two. But, odd as it seems. If I had to pick my "desert: pipe" it would probably be my MM general cob and a lifetime supply of CH. Lol

I was spending too much time and money at Dunhill's shop on Jermyn St some decades ago.
They had started making their banded Crosby.
The size "3" was a little small in the bowl for my size frame.
I approached the manager about making the 3110 into a 4110.
"That would be a special order, Sir," was his reply.
He quoted me some figures in £'s and I gulped.
Of course, the quote varied as to finish, but they were all worthy of reflection.
I had had some success on the lecture circuit, so I bit the bullet...hard.
"I want a dozen in these finishes.."
He didn't even blink..."Very good, sir. We'll need a down payment and contact you probably within the year."
It was over a year and I had a call that the pipes were ready.
On my next trip to London, I entered the store.
Quietly and ceremoniously, the attached, were offered to me for my review.
Made in 2002-2004.
The 2nd photo were picked up over time, when Dunhill started making the 4110 shape for the general market.
I smoke them literally all the time....

Oh my! Those are really exquisite, like carved to perfection.
Now I see why it's so difficult for you to choose. Don't press yourselves hard, maybe I can make it 5 most if you want. LOL

Those are great pipes, man!

I'm glad you and several others like the Basil Meadows pipe. I told Basil what I wanted and what he made greatly exceeded my expectations. I've missed very few days smoking it since I got it over six years ago. One cool thing to add: the stem matches the color of an Ascorti I have, and I always wanted another pipe with the same color. Since Basil didn't know that, and I never thought about suggesting it, it was a wonderful surprise, and makes the pipe even more precious to me.

My favorite pipe is a Peter Heeschen black sand blast a long bent shank p-shaped. It is a great smoker plus when I saw him at Richmond CORPS ( Not at TAPS) show 15 years ago and had a great conversation, joking BS, etc. I had spent my allowance but he had gave a tin of Briar Fox when I can buy a pipe later. Great guy!
