My younger daughter has two cats, both rescues, both neutered, one male, one female. The male is very social and friendly; the female quite shy. When I enter my daughter's house, Ollie, the male always greets me, rubs against my leg, apparently asks me for a quick pet, then moves on. Lola, the female, usually runs away, but if she's lying on the living room sofa is quite content to have me brush her long hair.
Yesterday, my older daughter came for dinner. Ollie would not leave her alone. He constantly was rubbing up against her for attention, and when she'd rub his back, he'd flip over immediately giving her his stomach. If my daughter sat down, he'd immediately jump on her lap and start to purr immediately. I've never seen him act in that manner, not even with the younger daughter or kids.
I asked my daughter if she'd rubbed herself with catnip; bribed him with tuna, etc. She laughed and said, "Ollie just likes me, maybe it's the way I scratch his back."
It seems most peculiar.
