On Dec. 26, 2020 I ordered a new pipe and some 9mm filters, but there website it showed it was shipped but USPS was still in pre-shipment today, 1/7/2021. I have called two days but put on hold for over 10 minutes and then I hung up. I also sent three emails this week asking about my order but they have never replied.

I have had great service from them. I usually call and maybe have to wait 10 minutes but when you get them on the phone they are always helpful and patient.

Here's the deal: Pipesandcigars, CigarsInternational, Cigars.com, Cigarbid, Cigarpage, Thompson's and FieldSupply are all shipped out of the same location. There's the claim that CigarPage and FieldSupply are privately owned by the original owners of C.I., but I am skeptical. SwedishMatch/Scandinavian Tobacco is the corporate head of all. Because of many impending law changes in some states, business has been on a high for all these entities. Cigarbid no longer answers emails (although they officially do) and a phone call can be on hold for 90 minutes, then dumped. I generally get good service from P and C, excellent service from Tobaccopipes.com and Smokingpipes.com.

I've suspected this for some time as all the catalogs show the same address.

I ordered two Tavern clays from P&C a few days back. They arrived in less than a week; well packaged/protected, etc. I have never tried to talk to them. Truth be told, my ordering from them is quite limited over the years!! FTRPLT

All my orders this past month from Pipes and Cigars, Tobaccopipes and Cigars International have been spot on and shipped in a very reasonable time. My last order from Mars Cigars was spot on but took longer in the system after being shipped. Haven't ordered from Smoking Pipes in awhile but the times I have things went smoothly and on time.

Yes, I've had many problems with Pipes and Cigars. Problems with this seller are posted all over the internet. Good luck.

Pipes and Cigars has been good for me. A few years ago they messed up a order on a lighter but I called and they made it right.

My recent order to them arrived quickly this time. I blame Covid for the majority of mail order woes across the board.

I took advantage of the 15% off. I looked at the bill, and I cannot make sense of it at all. coupon discount that isn't anywhere close to the 15% discount. A negative shipping total, when it should be free shipping. I don't care how they arrive at the total, but the total doesn't make any sense either. The sales tax amount doesn't calculate if you go from pre-sale total or post-sale total. I'm not looking forward to this phone call.

Made the call. Very nice customer service rep. They calculated the totals and got the same thing I did. Asked a supervisor. Neither could figure out the total on the website. They're going to email me back with either an adjustment or an explanation. Also learned that they don't charge for backorders, which makes sense, but of the half dozen or so emails I received from them, there's no mention of that. There's only one problem with that process: that means two totals will be wrong, and I will likely have to be on the phone with them again when the backorder is filled and when I'm charged. We can send a rover to Mars, but a website can't calculate a discount and apply state tax to it? As far as I'm concerned, it is either negligence or the knowledge of a system that overcharges. Not cool.

Wth Pipes and Cigars you always have to check to be sure your billing is correct. One would think it would be completely automated. I've ordered bulk on sale, but in the cart it's at regular price. I've made the phone call before completing the order and was charged the correct amount via a phone order. Given the number of transactions, I'm surprised there aren't more errors. Also, P & C frequently offers a sale on a particular brand of bulk but in small print excludes some particular blends of the brand.

For those of us who are home blenders, P & C has become just about the only option. The other major internet tobacco retailers no longer carry much unblended tobacco.

I gottta say I have had excellent service from them. On my last order I forgot something I wanted. Called the very next morning and the order had already shipped. The rep was very polite abd shipped the blend I wanted with no shipping cost. Hard to beat that kind of customer service.

For as long as I’ve been looking at websites like ours there have been threads very much like this one. Most guys have good experiences. There’s also the occasional disaster in sending, shipping and/or a customer “service” event (or non event). Also over the years tobacco companies have been particularly volatile in buying & selling other tobacco companies. None of it is a recent occurrence. Just know that if you’ve had a bad experience you represent a proud tradition…heh, heh, heh. Better luck in the future.

Not a problem per se, but they automatically shipped via UPS, which made me sign for the package in person - a pain in the neck that took three attempts. What can brown do for me? End this policy that only seems to exist with them.

Shipping gets very complicated these days. My order was sent via UPS, but USPS delivered it. As much as people complain about our postal service, I'd rather them handle my package than UPS. Of course, that is situational and dependent upon the workers. The UPS people here are racing like maniacs and don't bother even ringing door bells, while my delivery guy rings the doorbell, isn't afraid to get out of his truck to ask questions for clarification etc. I get the sense the UPS people would drop-kick my packages near the house if nobody was watching, while the USPS guy almost puts on white gloves before he handles my packages.

Talk about weird developments in delivery systems…I’ve had numerous packages delivered in a private vehicle by non-uniformed driver. Are they just doing contracted delivering with anyone that has a car? Is it a Uber Delivery thing? WTF? 🤨
