I'm wanting to try some of Ken's tobacco (a fellow Tennesseean), and usually would lean toward a VaPer. I see some of his blends have Orientals, and I'm intrigued by the Yenidje is some, thinking thats a rare tobacco to be able to smoke. I have several VaPers, so am wanting to experiment, though I would rule a KBV one out. Almost went for one this evening. Any blends that you guys would steer me toward? I don't think I've gotten much yearning for heavy latakia, but some in smaller amounts is tasty. Thanks Swede

Of what is currently available: Golf Spike Hyzer (VaPer), Mediations (a semi-aro VaPer), Golf Fore Glory (Va.s, several Orientals, and stoved DFK, which mutes it some), Golf Orange Thunder (straight Va.), and Mr. Christian's Brown Flek (straight broken flake Va.). What Lat blends he has right now are stronger than you want.

Thanks Jim. It seems that it is hard to find reviews in TR on KBV blends. Have you smoked Mr. Christian's San Valentino?

Jim, I just found your review for this in TR. It sounds good and worth a try. Somehow, when I searched in TR for Ken Byron Ventures, there were no results. When I searched Google from copying the blend name, then I get the TR review in the hits.

The search engine at TR is terrible. Google is your best friend for finding blends at that site. Hope you like whatever you decide to buy. I think this small batch company blends are always high quality and often inventive. I've yet to smoke a blend from them that I found wanting, and I've smoked over a hundred of them.

I'm looking forward to trying Golf Fore Glory! from them. Depending on my ability to taste it, I thought the complexity might be easier to detect with a blend that wasn't an aromatic. I still think the San Valentino sounds good, and enjoyed your review of both. It should be here this week. Thanks for your help. I'm glad to have learned of this company.

You're very welcome. The one thing you must remember is that all the blends are small batch, and when they go on sale, they tend to disappear quickly. He does hold some back for later release. Sometimes, he finds some rare leaf, and when a blend with that kind tobacco is gone, it's often gone forever. This is a home operation even though he has all the required licenses to make and sell tobacco. I always recommend that people click on his news icon, and see what's going on, and what's coming up for sale.
